  1. Yes, he can attract some players. So can Midland. The question is, can he attract high level D1 players? And the proof is in what he has done so far. Outside of his son, GD has not attracted a high level D1 player to Creighton. They are nice D1 role players, not high level. So yes, I agree that he will have Northern Iowa success with occasional appearances in the NCAA tournament, but nothing beyond that.
  2. Hahahaha. Sorry Cheap Seats. I should have used "compare".
  3. I introduced the discussion of Creighton's future to juxtapose their situation with ours. I think they will dramatically decline next year, while we will dramatically progress next year and subsequent years. I believe that Dougie will go pro. Why wait another year? Another year will add nothing to his draft prospects. And, based on what they currently have sitting on the bench and signed to an LOI for next year, they will fall off of a cliff bigger than the fiscal cliff Washington is dealing with!!!
  4. True. Greg McDermott desperately needed an athletic wing who could score, create and DEFEND to go along with Dougie in the worst way. But he completely flopped in recruiting two years in a row.
  5. Creighton has a wonderful team this year, no denying! They should win the MVC and could even creep into the top 10. But what happens next year when McDermott and Echenique are gone? Echenique graduates and I assume Dougie will go pro. They will have some nice players but no one who can create their own shot. They rely so heavily on McDermott and Echenique for scoring and to create space for thier shooters that they will be very inneffective without them. Greg McDermott just cannot recruit quality athletic players to Creighton. I don't see Groselle, Artino or Wragge as players who can be more than nice role players. Unless Greg McDermott has more progeny like Doug, they will sink into annonimity after this year. I can imagine a Creighton fan base in despair when that happens. In the meantime, I sincerely hope they enjoy the dream season they will experience this year. On the other hand, I love where the Huskers are headed. Our most important activity, recruiting, looks very strong. Quality athaletes, basketball players and good people. While it may not have been readily apparent last night, we have several accomplished coaches on this staff who have already made a difference in player skillset and mindset. We will be better next year and quite a bit better the following year. I love the direction of the Husker program under Coach Miles and his staff!
  6. This is huge! Welcome Tai! And congratulations to Coach Miles and Coach Harriman for attracting him to Nebraska!!!
  7. Based on limited exposure, Biggs is one of the top 3 players on the team. Can produce some offense, at least against other Husker players. Petteway is a stud and Talley looks good as well. Reyes looks pretty good but he has always looked good in practice. Needs to show it in a game. Pritchford is very athletic but needs to bulk up. Sergey is tall and just needs muscle mass and experience. I haven't seen Shields yet.
  8. Tory Miller fits our needs perfectly. Sergey is tall and Pritchford is very athletic but neither provide much muscle in the middle. Miller brings that and more. But when Tory announced he would not sign in the early signing period some took that as an indication of academic qualification issues. I don't know that is the case, but it makes sense. It is still good that we are in on him because he may still qualify!!!
  9. Looks like a good pick up for a walk on!
