  1. Another article about Alabama-idiocy. http://www.swishappeal.com/2014/10/6/6894589/daisha-simmons-alabama-transfer-sydney-moss
  2. Curious. The younger Kissinger girl seems to have a number of DI offers. Yet, in my opinion, Rylie C-J is a stronger player with better ball handling skills, footspeed, and overall speed. When Rylie gets on a shooting streak, she is very dangerous. But that's just my opinion.
  3. A bit of info on Simone Goods: http://www.neprepzone.com/sports/notes-bobby-bowden-will-be-in-gibbon-for-game/article_35f598cc-be4b-5da7-b4ba-4a56b4f1e64d.html Apparently she played for O Burke her freshman year, then O Northwest her soph and junior years, and this year will play for O Benson. Burke and NW - not necessarily basketball powerhouses right now, although if I remember correctly, didn't ONW give Fremont a game last year?
  4. The first thing I thought of was a possible knee or ankle injury. Hopefully that doesn't happen. On the other hand, I think she has focused on basketball her entire life, so it is good to try something different.
  5. http://www.neprepzone.com/sports/notes-fremont-basketball-star-jessica-shepard-gives-volleyball-a-shot/article_f10fd0ea-4ece-5662-bdd3-635ffe7d0ee2.html
  6. I just read another article on her and it says she is 6'9" and STILL GROWING. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1645291-nancy-mulkey-the-next-womens-college-basketball-mega-star
  7. And maybe Tim Miles could take a look at her younger brother.
  8. I read an article this summer (can't recall what newspaper, may have been OWH) where Taylor Kissinger said she would probably be playing point guard for Minden this winter. Could be a bit more challenging of a year for her since her sisters have graduated and she will take over handling the ball. I'm not sure what other teams are Minden's conference, but I think the better class C teams will be in the eastern part of the state (Louisville, Lincoln Christian, and is Platteview in C1 or did they move up to B?).
  9. I think this is the article. I guess some of the girls are at Lincoln Christian. http://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/basketball/girls/prep-girls-basketball-young-talent-shined-at-summer-tournaments/article_7caf8f6f-1798-526d-a30c-efa7edce867a.html I have seen Payton Brotzki play when she was younger, but not recently. As a 6th and 7th grader she definitely stood out.
  10. Is that the team that the younger Kissinger sister is on? I think it consisted of Taylor Kissinger (class of 2017), and a bunch of girls that are current freshman. I'm not sure any of them go to the same school, so it will be interesting to see if we hear anything about them during the season.
  11. Kind of seems to me that Jess should be starting, but like you said, these opponents have been very weak. Hopefully Canada will give us a good game.
  12. Jess had 16 points in 17 minutes of play. I like those numbers!
  13. Chloe Akin-Otiko is in the 2016 class, but I'm thinking she might be leaning more toward track.
  14. Probably not Row6. She gave up basketball over a year ago, but will probably pursue track in college. She is academically super-strong, so academics will win out, then if they want her on the track team wherever she goes, she will compete, otherwise she will give that up, too.
  15. Just curious if we have any information on this yet.
  16. How tall is Darrien Washington? Or is the ground a little uneven where the girls posed for the photo?
  17. I'm going to break the rules and list a couple of things. First, development of a solid bench. That will not only help us this year (and maybe we won't have that "hold on long enough to win" thing going on since our players won't have fatigue as an issue), but it will also help us next year when those bench players become starters. And the other thing is to see Sample score 6-8 points per game. She can do it, she has done it a few times (thinking specifically of our final game), but she needs to not be afraid to chuck in an open shot occasionally (and make the bunnies). Other teams leave her open, make a few of those shots and that will change.
  18. Yup, I realized later I had my Kastaneks confused.
  19. If T is lighting it up from 3 point land this year, I think she will definitely start. I have a feeling she could be a beast in the scoring department this year, and if she can stay out of foul trouble, she will continue being a beast defensively. Our opponents will have their hands full with her and Theriot, and still have to worry about Cady. If Sample can toss in a few each game, especially when they are leaving her wide open, it could be incredible, and I haven't even mentioned any of the newcomers yet!
  20. So that's an OK thing that Kastanek is a camp instructor for NU?
  21. Just started looking at colleges this summer. No decision yet. Going to the east coast in early August for a vacation and to look at another college or two.
  22. Nice write up about the team Maddie plays on and rosters of other club teams. http://www.neprepzone.com/sports/lasers-have-added-scorers-to-ease-load-on-nu-recruit/article_7d5d670c-f1dd-541e-80cd-50cd77d58fa9.html
  23. She may need to spend some time playing overseas to get up to speed. I think it really hurt last winter when she didn't get to play in Italy.
  24. Does anyone know if Rylie Cascio-Jensen from Fremont is at the camp?
  25. My daughter saw Rachel Theriot yesterday when she was touring campus. She said Rachel seemed really surprised that someone knew who she was.
