  1. SERIOUSLY!?!?
  2. Watching the Iowa-Iowa State game and heard the announcers say Rachel Banham from Minnesota will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
  3. You know, that is a great picture. A great thing to see. There were times in previous years that I thought our players didn't box out well. This picture looks like that has changed.
  4. Releasing her sister kind of sounds like "I'm done with dealing with the parents".
  5. Wow, that's a lot of change for a college freshman. Switching schools at semester and starting to practice with a new team as well. Sounds like these changes need to happen quickly.
  6. That's the part of it that bugs me too, Norm. Leaving so early in her freshman season. I'm just wondering if it was more our coach showing her the door (because of issues with parents). Maybe Kaylee would have been happy to stick out the season, but if there was some sort of issue with parents vs Yori, then that would be an impossible situation for a student-athlete. Just easier to be done with it and start over somewhere else. That would quiet the parents down anyway. Sounds like Yori had no issue with releasing both her and her sister.
  7. Since Kaylee is no longer on the team, she will be sitting this year anyway. And if she transfers to D1, she will sit next year as well. How has this helped her situation?
  8. IF she did get homesick and decide to return, she may not be happy either. I don't think she would be a starter this year, but would get minutes off the bench. Am I correct in remembering that playing time was part of her decision with Illinois? Going to a school like that she knew she would likely start, and she is a dominant player for them. If the goal is to play right away, then Nebraska probably wasn't a good pick right now. Next year, however, I think there will be more competition for a few spots. Theriot and Shepard start for sure. Romeo likely, too. What about the other 2 spots?
  9. Did Rachel Blackburn play on the same club team as the Page sisters?
  10. So, did Kaylee leave on her own, or did coach show her the door after some issue with her dad?
  11. Maybe freshman year should be a mandatory red shirt year for everyone in all sports. Gives you time to adjust to school, being away from mom and dad, and time to understand what it takes to play at the college level and then make a decision that you want to continue. It would never work, I'm just daydreaming.
  12. I guess on the upside we have 2 more scholarships to give now.
  13. Unfortunate. Will be interesting to see where she and Lanie wind up.
  14. I agree. Did you watch South Carolina and Duke today?
  15. Thought I heard Yori say in post game talk that our freshman have taken a step forward in the past week. If we can ever get past the injury bug, maybe it will all come together early conference play. That's what I'm hoping.
  16. Maybe this will fire them up for Creighton.
  17. And way too many turnovers. Alabama also had a lot of turnovers, but we need to cut our number in half. Poor shooting. We actually made more shots than Alabama, but they had 8 more points off their numerous free throw opportunities.
  18. OK, that's our turd game. I've been waiting for it. Time to refocus and move on.
  19. So many offensive fouls being called.
  20. T is hot. Keep going to her.
  21. And the refs were texting during the game so they didn't see it?
  22. What is with the Alabama coach running interference and the refs not calling it?
  23. Also, Brianna Turner did not play for ND in that game. She is out due to a shoulder injury suffered in the first few minutes of the Maryland game. She was averaging around 13 points per game prior to her injury.
  24. UConn won by 76-58 on Notre Dame's court in front of a sell-out crowd. UConn was behind 28-18 after the first 10 mins but then clamped down on Loyd and scored the next 16 points to take the lead. I think Loyd had 17 in the first half. UConn got into their groove on offense and still defended Loyd pretty hard to start the second half to take an even bigger lead. Loyd wound up getting 14 more points later in the second half but it was too little too late. So of NDs 58 points, Loyd scored 31. She was 10 of 27 on field goals, the entire team shot around 31%. No one else on the team attempted more than 12 shots and that player was the only other one in double figures with 11. UConn was much more balanced with 4 players in double figures with Morgan Tuck leading the way with 25 points. They shot 47.5% from the field.
  25. Heard that Williams might be playing for them today in their big game against South Carolina. Hopefully Duke will win that game - would be good for Duke and also for us. I should have known better than to ask about the coach and Williams after the game - especially given how divided our fan base seemed to be with our former FB coach. Was just trying to give some perspective from someone at the game because it sounded like most did not get to see it (doubt BTN is available in a cable tier in ACC country).
