  2. Does anyone know if the Huskers have looked at Payton Brotzki out of Platteview? She is just a freshman that has offers from Illinois and Creighton already. She is done for the season, though, because she tore her ACL around the same time as Jess. I've seen her play multiple times, mostly in junior high, and thought she really stood out.
  3. I saw that 6'7" girl and thought she would be hard to pass up. However, if grades are an issue, then she might want to stay closer to home. Or maybe she is just truly undecided.
  4. I was just reading this morning that MSU is beat up as well. I think we have a tough road game tonight, and I'm even worried about Illinois because of the physical play (and it's on the road).
  5. I've thought that Theriot has looked tired in the second half in these past few games. Some of that comes from the way the defense has played her, but her shots looked off to me in the second half. Still, it will help if some others that either start or come off the bench can score 6-8 points in a game (maybe not all of them every game, but a couple would help).
  6. So far in conference play she has played all 40 minutes. She was in foul trouble early in the Alabama game and only played 32 minutes. Some of the blow out wins she was subbed out, but the closer games she is in all 40 minutes. I think we are going to have lots of close games in conference and very few blow outs, at least until we see more contribution from the bench.
  7. I just don't think Theriot can keep playing all 40 minutes of every game. We desperately need to get some more contributions off the bench. I would like to see more consistency from Havers off the bench. I would also like to see Jeffery as a scoring threat again. It would be great if Romeo could add another 6-8 off the bench. Does anyone know when Cincore might be back? I thought she was doing some positive things for us until the boot happened. And I still think Emily Wood has helped when she has played - she's scrappy.
  8. And another: 3. 5'6" PG from California, #51 on ESPN http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/169535/brijanee-moore
  9. Any chance we are looking at either of these 2015 girls? 1. 6'2" wing from Italy, #4 on ESPN http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/203449/cecilia-zandalasini 2. 6'7" post from Texas, #49 on ESPN http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/143526/teaira-mccowan
  10. Oh, I don't know that her work ethic was poor. But I think there was more going on than just the adjustment to the college game - there was an adjustment to not having dad as a coach. When my daughter got to about 5th grade, it became obvious to me that parents should not coach their kids. From that time on, we made it a point to make sure my daughter only played on teams where the coach had no child on the team, for any sport that she played. She had some excellent experiences after making that switch. I'm looking at some of these other kids now who had a mom/dad coach them, kids that are in college and participating in a sport, and the picture isn't so rosey for many of them.
  11. Her parents probably thought that since Hooper graduated, Kaylee would come in and take her place immediately. They forgot about the part where you have to learn to play defense and adjust to the speed of the game. Some kids adjust quickly, others, well, they just take longer. Doesn't mean she wouldn't get there eventually. And now that we have so much illness and injury on the team, it would have been the perfect opportunity for her to show what she could do. Instead, it is a perfect missed opportunity for her, and her sister. If the main reason she is no longer with the Huskers is because of lack of playing time, I'm not sure that she is in a much better place for that.

  13. I'm wondering if they were trying to make up for the crap she went through with KSU.
  14. The NCAA granted her a hardship waiver.
  15. She is playing now at FSU. Almost upset ND with her on the court. http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/12120357/florida-state-seminoles-leticia-romero-returns-court

  18. Maybe she will transfer to KState so they can kick yet another from their roster.
  19. I'm sorry, I misquoted. It was "crazier than a $hithouse rat".
  20. Speculation on their board is that she did not want to go and it was her parents' choice. There is also speculation that it was because their coach is bat sh$t crazy.
  21. I think she will be fighting for playing time next year. And not sure how you handle the current situation of having her practice when everyone knows this person will displace a current player next year. Maybe it will make people practice harder, or it could cause some animosity.
  22. Based on what I have read on their forum, Deb and company did not recruit them. Some say there was a reason for that, might just be speculation on their part.
  23. From the Manhattan Mercury: http://themercury.com/articles/former-wamego-standout-kaylee-page-enrolls-at-k-state Expect roster shake-up.
  24. They woke up a bit in the final 10 minutes, but it was too little too late. Lots of frustration and some attitude from their players. I suppose it doesn't help that it was a rival game.
  25. Interesting that a new coach at KState would be willing to take on this mess.
