I watched my first Husker basketball game ...

They were in decent shape, but not mint condition for keeping as expensive keepsakes, like they could have been... they probably got even more enjoyment than I did out of 'em, tbh. Both that missionary kid (*we were friends*) and myself were BIG Michael Jordan fanatics. -
No, but it'd be funny if they did suit up! lol

Should've still mentioned the OG, Tom Kropp, though. He was a legit baller, drafted to every pro league...

As long as Natalie Potts stays firmly within the fold, then whatever else they get in the portal will be 'gravy' from my perspective... gotta keep Potts at all costs.

...in-state kids....

Compound that on the men's side having a coach in Dan Monsen who was already getting let-go, then go on a run to close it out, and make the dance... Long Beach St. lol

True that. I didn't know Naismith had a losing record, comes as a shock to the system... NU wished for his "greatness" as a hallmark of a program, somebody paid many millions for his basket ball rules to place in their HOF. Still boggles the mind. And, yes, Lunardi like Mel Kiper turned a weird hobby into a multi-million dollar industry, via ESPN...

It's a wild, circuitous route to Nebrasketball. Indubitably. I have an Iowa story, too, sort of... it was out of necessity. I grew up on a central NE farm, well, outside of Aurora, NE, imagine that? lol Anyhow, there was an Albion satellite station for a Sioux City TV station, and they religiously showed the Dr. Tom Davis Show every week, that I had stumbled across. Well, me being a rabid basketball junkie, I latched onto it!! I grew to love Dr. Tom much like NU's Dr. Tom Osborne. Both upstanding men who led their teams well. He taught the fundamentals on his 30-min. weekly program for "Iowa Basketball Hoops," as I recall the name, which may not be accurate... nevertheless, I liked the 'Hawks when Roy Marble Sr., B.J. Armstrong, and Acie Earl were roaming the court in the late 80s... It wasn't a "love 'em" type of situation because Nebraska basketball was my love, but I didn't hate 'em either! Turned that liking of BJ Armstrong into lapping up all things Chicago Bulls with the help of MJ, of course. Despite being a poor farmer fam, I did have the original Air Jordans. Loved those shoes, wore 'em out, & donated them to missionaries... memories... -
I wholeheartedly agree. But, they have their stooge, similar to Lee Corso, that they trot out for the masses at the Roman Coliseum to give a "thumbs-sideways" for their deplorable performance.

Man, I wish NU had such a dishonorable thing such as the father of basketball disrespecting its time-honored program like KU... I'd imagine 55-60 is top 8 at NU, lol.
-
Yeah, I generally don't watch e$ECpn, but the masses lap it up, for sure. That's a true story... Lunardi's a lunatic. lol
-
Briefly he had my hopes up.... NU in Omaha, but I knew it was crapshoot, unless ISU got a 1, which UNC had it locked up. Turns out Tenn. had the next dibs anyway. It's fun to dream... lol

YES! Heck, I really want a Final Four run to #PHX! LET'S GO, BIG RED!! A bucket list item to have good seats at a #Final4 and to do it in Phoenix would be fun as heck!!!

There's a feature to edit the original post. Just an FYI... -
I've been telling my bro this these past several weeks... Lunardi sucks at his job. He'd say, he gets them right. And I say, welllll, he's fed the info at the last min. so how accurate are his seedings... and he'd tell me, he'll get all 68 in the field, that's so hard to do. And, I'll say, really, that's not the hardest part. I feel like this is Seinfeld and Kramer having a convo at this point... lol

#45, Stan Cloudy, he could bully his way through the lane... an earlier version of a Chuck Barkley, sorta. -

GBR -- need to stack up in mid-weekers, unlike last season's mid-week collapses. -

Besides watching those few games from the mid-to-late 70s throughout the 80s, I specifically had season tickets during the 90s run (both football & basketball--WHAT A TIME!!!) and have now had season tickets for football since 2005 and in hoops since PBA opened in '13. The best part of all of this is that I've always gone to games with my bro, and the past few with my son, who's now 16. Individual memories of games could be mentioned, and there have been many, but the best memories are talking about every facet of every single game until we can't discuss it any further, that's for both FB & BB. And I analyze everything! lol -
I wouldn't say no, if Freddy's ready to reach out after their season(s), presuming a portal entry, of course.

I hope he is. A full-year of learning the Hoiberg system & prior B1G years at a black-and-yellow school to our immediate east, it's certainly a welcome sight to see "PG" next to a guy's profile on huskers.com . . . let's keep him, yes, for sure.
