Ticket is taken. -
I know this may not belong here but there aren't many posts on the marketplace board so I figured more people would see it here. I have an extra ticket in section 319 for the NW game, PM me if interested.

Started From the Bottom
No Place Like the Vault replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
That song came to my mind today also. I was at early season conference game and this song was playing and my friend said that we are still at the bottom. The progress this team has made throughout the conference is remarkable. Great coaching by Miles has a lot to do with it. The team had a player suspended and had disappointing losses against Michigan and Penn State but they didn't hang their heads. Because of the teams' continual improvent I am convinced that they will finish the season strong. -
Let's Talk March Madness

They didn't lead quite the entire game but somewhere in the neighborhood of 37 minutes which is quite impressie for a road game vs a top 10 team.. What I was impressed with was when MSU made a run to cut it to a one possession game, we had guys step up and make big shots and kept battling on d. -
The D was huge in the win. It got us the victory despite Shields and Gallegos cold shooting.

I doubt it, the temperature during the game is supposed to be 36 with a 15 mile per hour wind. -

Down 3 at the half again, very winnable game. They need to keep driving to the paint and take less quick shots. -

Another missed offensive foul call, Shields had good position on that one. -
Is anybody going out to watch the game?

The arena definitely increases the excitement about this win, but moreso for the casual fans. The arena is major draw for casual fans and provides a new and exciting atmosphere that is gonna attract more people to the team. Diehard fans would have been just as impressed with this win if it were at the Bob. The team played good on both sides of the court and the upgrade in athleticism was off the charts even with 2 of our quicker guards suspended. I would like to see the place packed for the next 2 games as well but that may not happen due to the weak opponents. However, if the team continues to perform like they did last night, I don't see a reason why PBA won't be nearly full for all games.

Nope. And FWIW, I am in the same boat. I mean, sure, football's gonna be good and all, challenge for the league title, yadda yadda...but what's happening in hoops is just downright thrilling! I'm right there with you busticket. These next few years are the most important years in the history of the program. We have a new coach who has landed some very promising recruits and there's also the arena and practice facilities that are some of the best in the country. We saw how hard the team played last year, just imagine what Miles can do with a more talented roster.

I will be up in the 300 level as well, but the view doesn't look too bad from up there.

And who is it for us to say Bo isn't doing it the right way. I dont't know how old you are but at one point in To's career the fans wanted to tar and feather him as well. So IMO Bo needs some time to learn as TO did. His behavior on the sideline has been scrutinized and is getting better, I have heard about fans' displeasure with TO not being able to beat Oklahoma and it almost made him to decide to take the Colorado job but this is a different time. Coaches are not given as long to meet expectations as they once were. I don't see Bo's teams making enough improvement over the last few years to warrant giving him more "time." This year will probably quiet the critics some because of the team's weak schedule but a likely blowout in the B1G title game vs. OSU will put a damper on the season. This is my final post on the topic as to not litter this board with football discussion.

Thanks cip, I'm losing patience with Pelini and would like to see a new coach. Pelini's biggest weaknesses are his recruiting and performance in big games. I realize that Nebraska is not in a great place geographically for recruiting but there is no excuse for the team's defensive performances in the ugly losses. It makes you appreciate what TO did even more because he was ahead of his time and did thing the right way.
