  1. Because he's not a high D1 prospect. At all. I understand it may be necessary in order to get Jordy, but the reason we haven't to this point is we aren't wasting a scholarship on a position that can be equally filled by a walk on.Pretty sure he'd be an upgrade over Kurkowski or Borchardt, so I'm gonna have to politely disagree. Miles probably plans on filling out the scholarships this year. That's the plan anyway. Whether he does is besides the point. All I'm saying is the reason we haven't offered Link as of yet is that he isn't a Big 10 caliber prospect. That's why we didn't offer him the first time around. And he may be a slight upgrade over a kurkowski or a borchardt but that alone doesn't make him scholarship worthy. Riding the bench is riding the bench. a practice player is a practice player. Now I'd rather have Jordy so if Link is a requirement to get Jordy then fine but offering now is a waste of a potential scholarship.

  3. And even if he visits Vegas maybe he just wants to see Vegas for free.
  4. And still I wonder is he looking at the new schools or have ties led to the school's trying to throw their hats in the ring and that's how the dots were connected? In other words, new schools are inquiring but does Jordy have interest in visiting those schools? Time will tell.
  5. Interesting development here, if we don't want his brother and have another plan, I guess okay. I just don't like the drug out process even though I respect a kids decision to check out all their options. GBR I once thought Jordy's recruitment process was a take your time, become educated and make the correct and very calculated decision ala Andrew White. I still have that opinion but the newest developments have me questioning that.
  6. I'm not worried. Yet. I will be somewhat if Jordy sets up that visit to UNLV. Desperate teams trying to jump in last minute with a coveted spring recruit. That's what happens with these legitimate late signers. Sounds like a newly hired assistant who has previous ties to Jordy is the reason for UNLV becoming interested or that is the connection anyway. I guess we will see if Jordy is truly interested or if that is where it stops.
  7. Sounds like we may be prepared to offer Link if it seriously comes to that...
  8. Kenya was kind of a beast when we got him. Georgetown > Butler? Kenya has some recruiting cred after some of his gets here. If Lewis ends up being the best hire that will say something great about Lewis. Molinari was no slouch when we got him either (even if he catches hell on here), from a reputation in the basketball world. I love the Lewis hire, but from a "where's he at; what's he done" standpoint, I don't have him jumping out as the best hire. I agree. To me Lewis is more of a 'solid' hire that 'makes sense' instead of a 'whoa' hire. Now, Lewis could certainly turn out to be that 'whoa' guy but even some of our 'whoa' hires have flopped.
  9. I agree with you and if he can make 6 figures, then I'd leave as well but if it meant I'd be playing in the D league making $25,000, then I might lean towards coming back. If he hadn't graduated, then I think it's a no-brainer he turning but with a degree already in hand, sometime you are just ready to move on and not waste your time with taking grad glasses for a year without earing a paycheck. If he knows NBA is unlikely, obviously still his goal but unlikely, and also knows he can go to Europe and make 200-300k next year then he is gone. If he comes back here instead of heading to Europe then he is risking injury and throwing away all of that money to maybe be in the same position next year at this time.
  10. Notice the part where it says he handled the offense at Butler for the last two years.
  11. Read several articles from around 4/15/16 that said that Butler cut recruiting ties with Eron Gordon.
  12. I thought there were measures against this. There are against an athletic scholarship player taking academic scholarships. Like Shavon couldn't have just taken an academic ship to help with paying for school if we had extra guys who needed scholarships
  13. Ok question here. So does that date mean anything? I mean, can't he just decide on a school a couple days before classes start, enroll there and go? Or is it different for incoming freshman versus transfers where we see a guy like Andrew White wait and wait and wait before he decides?
  14. I'm fine with tight races as long as we win.
  15. Just curious why you think that? Morrow is more of a low post player only whereas Jacobson has more outside range to go along with his low post presence. I don't know that offensively we can play Morrow and Jordy at the same time. To me, that makes Morrow a 5. Why? If Jordy is on the floor he is going to be the 5. I understand that MJ has more of an outside game than Morrow, but you certainly don't need the 4 to have one. I thought a lot of the talk was about getting MJ and Morrow to their more natural spots on the floor. In my eyes, Morrow would be better as the guy feeding off the 5. If you've got a Jordy out there shadowing the other teams big, then Morrow can eat his smaller man alive on the offensive glass as cleanup man. I don't know why you couldn't play both Jordy and Morrow together.
  16. Ok so Link continues to be a project. Can't find much on him so there can't be too much D1 interest. Montana State may be interested but that's all I find. With this being the case, there's no way we waste a scholarship, and it's very unlikely they go anywhere together unless Jordy plays down some levels. I don't know why he'd want to stunt his development.
  17. So the OWH article about the new assistant hire mentions that Jordy will possibly take another visit and it may be to a school who will also offer Link a scholarship as well. If we need Jordy so bad, do we have a reason not to tell Link he can tag along as well? I mean, for all we know that final scholarship could end up going unused again and we don't know how the Andrew white saga is going to play out either. We offered Link a couple years ago and he chose TCU. Would he not help us or at least be a body as we groom Jordy? I don't know what kind of attention Link is getting out of JUCO now.
  18. M and R, not to rain on the parade now that Palmer has announced, but was your source with 'good news about a transfer' specifically about a big man transfer or were they speaking of just some transfer and that James Palmer is probably that guy? Makes a difference bc your #1 and #3 would be the same thing. I just know when that mystery big man thread blew up that 2 and 2 were put together and suddenly 'good news about a transfer' guy became that specific mystery big man.
  19. We have to be in decent shape with the spring signing period drawing to a close later this month but you never know. He seems to be really taking his time with the process. He doesn't have any other visits set up right now so an Arizona visit would have to pop up soon if they still want him. In the back of my mind I still have all those BC predictions and hope there's nothing to that. Hopefully he's not just taking trips while he's been a silent Boston College commit all along or something.
  20. Also, as far as the Boston College talk and those predictions, Jordy's scout interest levels have been updated recently and Arizona, Minnesota, and Nebraska all say high interest. Boston College is listed as low interest.
  21. Robin is going to have an article up later this morning for those who pay for Rivals. He just gave a snippet update. Says visit went well and Nebraska is in a "very, very good spot". He hasn't committed though.
