They need to shoot the 3 better. Their defense is going to keep them in the games. -

This game changed with Roby's 4th foul, and the 30 minute conference by the moronic refs. -

These refs suck. The Seton Hall guy shuffled his feet 4 times on the possession they turned it over. Now, Watson goes straight up and gets a foul called on him. Seton Hall does it all game and nothing. -

Roby needs to play more than 6 minutes in a half. His presence alone would help keep Powell and Seton Hall out of the lane. -

I did not understand our defensive game plan yesterday. Bush could not throw the ball down the field. The one or two good passes he had, the receivers dropped the ball. Why did not we not press the WR's and put 8 in the box with a spy on Bush? I am not big on counting on forcing turnovers or stopping teams inside your 40 yard line. I know this offense is going to score, but if we could get a defense to give up an avg. of 20 PPG this team is back to being a great team that challenges for big 10 and national championships. On a side note, Illinois actually made our ST's look amazing. They couldn't catch a punt or kickoff. They had a punt blocked that resulted in a safety. We need to not make mistakes on ST's and capitalize if the opponent makes mistakes.
-
The most encouraging part is that we did not play a great game, yet made OSU sweat. We need some players on defense, and our ST have to improve drastically. Get those two areas fixed, we are getting back to a top 15 team consistently.

247sports had him as the 10th best OT, and 65th best player in this class.

I saw a tweet that said Schellemwach (sp?) hit a 400 ft home run to center.

Enough of me being a Debbie downer. We need to find a way to finish 5 - 1, which is a possibility. Teams we play outside of Ohio State really aren't scary. I could handle a 5 - 7 season. It would show progress. Then, go out and recruit defensive studs and offensive line studs. That's where I hope they concentrate. My prediction for the Minnesota game. Nebraska 34 Minnesota 27

You could match-up Bootle on him. Then, have Lee and Jackson on the outside WR's, but I have no inside info to know if they tried that in practice. Probably not the time to try it in a game situation. But, maybe it was worth the risk.

So, how come the coaches don't deserve some blame? Either, they are not teaching the players proper technique or they can't design something to get to the QB. We were 3 - 3 through 6 games last year. We beat the same Purdue team on the road that we lost to at home this year by 14. Northwestern took us to OT both years. So, we are not suppose to be frustrated with the coaches when we are 0 - 6 for the only time in 129 years?
-
So, you are trying to convince me that these teams have more talent than us: Akron Colorado Troy Purdue Northwestern Minnesota Illinois I could maybe give you Colorado. The team flat out quit last year, which caused them to go 4 - 8. Before the Northwestern loss, they could have/should have beaten NW, Minnesota, and Iowa to finish 7 - 5. Actually, Mo Barry and Luke Gifford could probably start for most teams in the Big 10. Secondary is not good, but the DL has decent players. The reason some coaches use the 3 - 4 defense, is because the offense never knows where the rushers are coming from. I noticed that we don't disguise the pass rushers very well. One critique I would have with Chinander. I think doing that would help the secondary. Imagine the chaos if Bo started 0 - 6 in 2008, or Riley started in 0 - 6 in 2015. So, I am sorry I don't bow down to Frost, and just have blind faith in him. A lot of fans are going through the fact that Riley was the Devil, and St. Frost is here to fix everything. I am not asking for Frost to be fired. I think he needs at a very minimum 4 years to get this thing turned around. I just think fans have to be okay with other fans criticizing the coaches who are in charge now.

What gets the most annoying, is the holding penalties. There was one play where the NT for Nebraska busts through 2 guys. The 2 NW OL grab an arm each!!! How is that not holding. There were holding calls against Nebraska in the Purdue game that were legit blocks, that were getting called. I understand you could call holding every play, but there's some blatant holds by the other team that never get called.

This team has 7 win talent. That is what makes this season so frustrating. Right now, we have to hope to go 5-1 to build some momentum for next year. If we go 2 - 10, I don't know if we can recover in Frost's 7 year contract time. This loss was inexcusable. This is coaching, coaching, coaching. It is blind faith right now. One game we are snapping the ball with 20 on the play clock, with 4:49 left against Colorado. Now, today we have the ball at their 45 with 2 minutes to go and we are conservative. Why not a screen pass? A read option, something? Northwestern can NOT run the ball, and yet their guys are constantly running by themselves wide open. Especially, the WR who they go to EVERY time on 3rd and 4th down. We have one of the best WR in the Big 10, and he gets blanketed all game. The most annoying part is Frost takes ZERO blame after games. After the Purdue game, it was the players fault for dancing and penalties. Today, in response to what happened on the 99 yard td drive, "I don't call the defense" IT'S YOUR TEAM!! Figure it out. We are averaging 98 YARDS PER GAME in PENALTIES!! That is a full football field.

That's not fair to Ozigbo, Morgan, Gifford, Barry, or any other seniors that chose to stay with this team. Our chance of a bowl game is done, now. Frost has a lot of work to do for me to start thinking he is the guy for the job. Our ST are a joke. Our DL is average, our DB are terrible. We commit countless penalties per game. We turn the ball over too many times. One game (against Colorado) we're aggressive down the stretch, the next time (against NW) we are conservative, with much better field position. I just don't think this offense works. The only team that really uses it is Ohio State, and they load their defenses up with 4 and 5 star players. It wears out your defense like today. The defense was tired. Maybe Frost can show me otherwise, but I was worried about it when he got hired. If you look at Bo's time here. When we had the smash-mouth, huddle type of offense, we had one of the best defenses in the country. It really started slipping when we moved to the up-tempo offense. Maybe it's just me being frustrated with this loss, and I will turn my outlook in the next few days. It probably would be best for me to just lay low right now and sulk in this terrible defeat.
-
Let me start by saying I think Frost is the man for the job of getting it turned around. Having said that, I see so many Nebraska fans making excuses for a loss to Troy at home. That should never happen. Is this what the last 19 years have given us? Accepting losses to Troy because the QB was injured and it was Frost's 2nd game?
-
The 2nd half is where the turnaround starts!!
-
So, we get stopped on 3rd and 1 because we can't block. Miss a short field goal. Let the running QB run for 50 yards. Commit 2 PF penalties, and missed tackle after missed tackle.
