  1. That's because Pitch has the potential to be so much better if he were to tighten up his shooting motion (I.e. modify the elbow-tastic nature of his set-up). Everyone could be better at shooting. The thing Pitch should work on most is rebounding.
  2. Neither of our Point Guards could knock down a 3 to save their lives, yet Norm chooses to offer up advise to our Center who has the best 3pt % on the team.
  3. if we somehow land dickerson and atwood, and then williams and pinder, we are set for a long time.
  4. i seem to remember him knocking down a huge 3 last night. I don't think you can change your shot mid season. Especially when you are shooting 40% from 3
  5. Iowa st and Fresno state have offered according to verbal commits. A recruiting battle with Doc Sadler? When you put it that way, i like our chances.

  7. 6'9 220. Williams is a physical specimen who plays hard at both ends. He is a very good rebounder in his area and he possesses soft hands. He runs very hard in transition and can finish with a strong dunk through contact. His offensive game has improved. sounds good to me.

  9. I would love it if Tai could get his 3 point stroke going, but this post is a pretty one-dimensional look at what a point guard does. it also ignores MIles' comments about Benny's contributions in the Northwestern game. I wouldn't get too high on parker. He had one decent game against northwestern. Still averaging 1.6 pts a game and has not made a 3 pointer this year. He plays solid on ball defense, but he's only 5'8 which still makes him somewhat limited defensively. And neither Tai or Benny are dishing out assists along with not being able to shoot. Assuming we are playing zone on defesne, I think Hawkins could potentially be our best option over Tai and Benny. Having another guard on the floor that can shoot the 3 would make us almost unguardable on offense. Hawkins seems to be gaining a lot of confidence over the last few games.
  10. We don't need any of our point guards to be elite because Petteway handles the ball half the time anyways. The problem is that neither Tai or Benny can knock down a 3. Tai and Benny are kind of useless on the court right now because they can't shoot. I don't see us consistently winning games until we have a point guard that can knock down a couple 3s. We might be better off with hawkins on the court in crunch time, and let petteway bring the ball up.
  11. spot on. And i could see trey starting if Tai doesn't improve by next year.
  12. Mathieu at Minnesota does fine at his size ... But I am not a fan of Benny being a "go to" PG for us. Gonna take much more than that to be a top half team in the conference. We need a PG and a shooter bad, along with another big man. trey dickerson, willie atwood, nick fuller, and jacob hammond would probably fill those needs.
  13. I know it is all a matter of opinion, but I do not believe Deverell was the best PG on this team, in fact, I would say that the team may agree with me. Biggs had some terrific skill sets including his ability to create with the ball and his quickness. But he was a selfish rather than a selfless PG. He turned the ball over at critical times, he broke down defensively and his outside shot was average. On this team, when the offense boggs down, we go to either Shavon or Terran to create...Biggs did not like those options, or so it seemed. He wanted the ball, which is not always a bad thing, but it seemed to create issues on this team. I don't know how you can say biggs was selfish. He was shooting the ball at a higher percentage and had a higher assist rate than shavon shields. He took more shots than our other point guards, but that was because he was capable of getting his own shot off the dribble. The only critical turnover i remember him making was in the penn st game. His outside shot was far superior to tai and benny. Tai is shooting 19% from 3 and Benny is shooting 0% from 3. I don't think biggs getting kicked off the team had anything to do with shavon and terran having the ball in their hands.
  14. As of now, neither Tai or Benny look like a B1G point guard. Biggs was the best point guard on the team, and it is a shame he couldn't get his act together. We need to get a lot better at the point guard spot because Tai and Benny's stats combined don't even equal 1 average point guard.
  15. petteway didn't play a perfect game, but he is playing at an extremely high level. It's hard to imagine us not getting into the ncaa tourney if he's on the team the next 2 1/2 years.
  16. Would be curious to get Doug Collins take on our team after watching us.
  17. we need atwood. I'm assuming he will be able to at least give us the same amount of what leslee has, which is more than enough. we are now also in the position where we badly need trey. Losing biggs created a huge need for a point guard. I think Hammond will probably play from day 1, but most likely as a backup center. If we land atwood and trey, we could afford to redshirt hammond though.
  18. finally watched some highlights of trey. he seems like the real deal. most impressed with his shooting. He shoots 3s with ease for a point guard.
  19. that's a pretty legit 10 man rotation, and Smith is the only player that would be a senior.
  20. huskers simply don't play with the same intensity on the road. get these guys some red bull.
  21. would be nice to have a juco all american to ease webster's transition into the college game.
  22. lol. kurkowski with the SC top 10 dunk
  23. so basically at the beginning of the season people wanted him benched for his poor shot selection, and now we are at the point where we have to worry about him leaving early for the nba?
  24. Kamdy, I've seen Deng listed at 6'8" and 220 lbs. Is it his style of play that causes you to categorize him as a sf? he's a small forward just like shields is, but would probably play power forward for us. Hammond and Pitchford are probably our centers for the next few years.
  25. this was probably our biggest miss: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/67497/kevin-thomas
