  1. i assume his shooting %'s will drop when conference play starts, but he may very well be 1 and done here if he finishes the season with those numbers. He's not quite as versatile as petteway, but he has been way more efficient and has rebounded better.
  2. I have to disagree. we lost 2 close games against miami and cincy that we badly needed. there is no reason to save glynn. he is 18 years old and can fully handle a 30 game season. if he is our best point guard, he should be starting.
  3. the goal should be to finish out the non-con undefeated. no ranked teams. creighton is beatable and rhode isand's best player is out for the year.
  4. just my opinion, but Watson seems better than benny in pretty much every way. i'd like to see him start. benny played nearly twice as many minutes as watson. benny didn't play bad, but i think watson is a better all around player right now. jake still has a ways to go, but he's all we got right now inside. he had some nice blocks. mcveigh had a crucial turnover, but he needs to be shooting way more than 1 time per game. shields played great, but probably tried to do a little too much. white is pretty consistent. probably should be shooting a little more. tai has been playing very good all around. Morrow did alright, but isn't doing as much as i thought he would be. he is playing backup center which is not his position.
  5. that's odd. don't see a single player listed from either team on nbadraft.net
  6. i'm very curious to see how we do against a 6'10 and 7 foot frontcourt.
  7. i'm not saying they aren't, but i have to assume that most transfers are due to playing time which they did not have last year.
  8. At this moment I cannot even think about one of these players leaving; let alone more than one. It obviously could happen, but not even on my radar at this point. i think you have to assume somebody will. nobody thought tarin smith or pitchford were going to leave. Actually I was not surprised with those two leaving. In fact, once we signed Mr. Watson, I would have been surprised that he stayed. tarin played 18 mpg as a freshman and walt declared pro after averaging 7 and 4. i'd have guessed fuller or hammond would have left before those 2. both barely played last year.

  10. i would hope so. right now we have 1 spot open, but i'm guessing 1 or 2 players transfer after the season.
  11. this was a must win for us. pretty good start to the season so far. we had 1 bad half against villanova, and barely lost to cincy. I think we have a chance to be a lot better than we thought before the season.
  12. jake has been solid offensively, but tennessee's biggest guy is 6'7.
  13. the stat sheet was almost identical for both teams except that cincy had 9 more offensive rebounds. great game by tai. miles must get a big that can rebound and defend for next year. we had just as much talent as cincy, but their size killed us.
  14. i would hope we can go 2-1 against Abilene Christian, rhode island (lost their best player to injury), and creighton. i would hope we can go 1-2 against tennessee, cincy, and miami. anything less than 3 wins would be dissappointing.
  15. 3 would be ok. 4 would be good. 5 or 6 would be great.
  16. 2 days before thanksgiving... we simply can't afford to have an incarnate ward type loss this year.
  17. i could see bakari transferring. he's the only scholarship player not getting minutes, and he'll be 2nd string to watson his whole time here.
  18. Miles says "you are what you cover." In other words, he identifies players by the defensive assignment rather than the offensive one. I see McVeigh as more of a small forward/wing than a power forward right now. He just isn't beefy enough to be a B1G big, though he might be able to get there over time. His length, though, allows him to make up a bit for a current lack of foot speed. Having said all of that, though, I'm not sure Jack is ready to enter the starting lineup. And I don't think White is really a 2. For that matter, Morrow isn't really a 5, either, but he's going to give us more being in that spot than what we're probably going to get out of Hammond, unfortunately. So, I'd say move Benny out of the starting lineup in favor of Watson. Or move Tai out in favor of Watson. Either way, Watson probably needs to start. Start Ed at the 5 and then let Shavon and Andrew deal with the 3/4 spots. And I don't know who to recommend at the 2. Johnny Trueblood? (Bobcat402 is outta here.) at the very least, i would send a message to benny and tai by benching them next game. they have played awful the first 2 games.
  19. these are our best 5 guys right now, but i don't think i've ever seen them all on the floor at the same time. pg. watson sg white sf mcveigh pf shields c morrow.
  20. watson, white, mcveigh, shields, morrow. i'd like to give this lineup a try.
  21. tai and benny can barely get the ball past half court, so i don't see that happening much.
  22. hammond may foul out of every game.
  23. Watson and Gill will be huge upgrades as starters next year.
  24. benny and tai have not gotten any better... 6 turnovers and 1-7 shooting between them, and they can barely get the ball up the court.
