Overall solid game. The ball movement was really good. We had 20 assist on 28 made field goals. We also took a lot better care of the ball. It was disappointing too see FDU cut the lead to 9. Thankfully we pulled away and won convincingly. Once we start hitting some threes and missing point blank layups, I think we can be pretty good.

Obviously we played horrible. The careless turnovers are what’s bothering me the most. The fact that we only lost to Utah by 2 tells me this team can still be decent. I will remain optimistic that we can figure it out. Just remember we played horrible against North Dakota and Rider last year in the non con. Hopefully we’re getting our bad games out of the way early.

Since every team has played a game, KenPom has his full rankings out. Nebraska ranks 16 in average height and 25 in experience. Our non-con schedule ranks 211.

uneblinstu's postgame chatter : vol 17; ed 1 - UTRGV
AGHANSEN replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The offensive flow just didn't seem to be there. It felt choppy and hard to score. I wonder how much of that was due to all the free throws. It looked like we only ran 2 or 3 offensive sets. As the season progresses, I think Fred will expand the playbook a little more. I'm still not a fan of the baseline trap especially at the end of the shot clock. UTRGV had way too many wide open threes. Williams, Essegian Gary and Worster will all need to average double figures for this team to be good. My goodness, Essegian's shot is a thing of beauty. -
Grand Valley State vs. Nebraska (Exh.)

Overall I thought we played alright. GVSU was definitely pretty good. They will probably be better than some of the teams we play early in the non-con. GVSU plays Purdue on Wednesday night. It will be interesting to see the result of that game. -
Red defeats White 66-50 in 2024 Pre-Season Scrimmage

Good breakdowns by everyone. I was really impressed with our passing ability. Worster was as good as advertised. Essegian had really good passes as well. Fred always talks about making the simple plays and I thought we did a solid job of that. This will hopefully be a team that takes really good care of the ball. I really like the unselfishness of this group. Could be a special year! -

Who are you most excited to see play ? I'm going with Rollie Worster. I'm excited to see his pass making ability and creating winning plays. I am hoping to see how well he commands the court on both sides of the ball. -

I'm not surprised. Most people (media and those outside of Nebraska) probably view last year as a fluke. I think it's good we stay under the radar.

Where do you think Nebraska will be ranked in the preseason media poll ? Where will you pick Nebraska ? From all the research I have done, most people are overlooking us and are picking us anywhere from 11-16. For the record, I'm completely fine with us getting a low ranking. It's good for us to stay under the radar.

We have practice clips! The season is upon us.

@Jacob Bigelow when will the Big Ten announce tip off times and tv schedule ?
-
Looks like the full schedule will come out today! We should get the tip off time for the Sioux Falls game as well.

It will be good to get the Hoosiers out of the way early. Indiana should be really good this year. Hopefully they will walk into PBA ranked in the top 25.

I found a good video on YouTube about what Nebraska will likely run on offense and defense this year. This guy puts out a lot of good videos about Big Ten Basketball.

We were 3pt centric last year, so I think we won't see as many threes. I would expect a lot of pick and rolls especially when Rollie is on the floor. I wonder if we will still play the 5 man out system on offense. It will depend on the different lineups we use I suppose.

They released the conference schedule on September, 19 last year for whatever that is worth.
