Bugeaters1 mentioned she was on the bench in street clothes during the Kansas game on Wednesday. Good bet, it was her. Wasn't at the game, so not sure.

Agree. Energy level goes up immediately when a couple of the pups come in. Veerbeek alone, pushed it up a notch yesterday. And, it can be contagious. Kate seemed to catch a bit of it. She had a splendid game. Not sure the timing is right for the freshmen to be starters, but they have earned their share of the minutes. This season could go in so many directions. Grab your popcorn, should be entertaining.

Not by themselves. After the slow start, were the starting 5 ever on the court together, after the 1st quarter? The kids were responsible for the lead in the first half, and meshed well with Kate and Taylor the second half, to seal the deal. I wish Hannah took better care of the ball. Not sure where Maddie's head is at. Encouraged by Kate's play today. She seemed to run the court better, had a heck of a game.
-
What's up with Maddie? Imagine, that's a half she'd like to forget. I hope, all is well in her world.

Regarding energy level, and athleticism, advantage newbies.

Chemistry is a key to most successful teams. So far, it is a work in progress. Last year was exceptional. We had a fairly young team, with key senior leadership. They seemed to rally around the new kids, Kate and Taylor. A couple of early wins, strong road play, and they found a chemistry. This year, lots of new kids. Playing out like two separate camps at the moment. Hopefully, they figure it out soon. Coach Williams has her hands full.

Yes, I'd like some cheese and crackers to go with my "whine", but seemed like the refs made sure Amy wasn't able to follow her game plan either. Both teams healthy, neutral court, I still like our chances.
-
I'd love to catch the Jays in the postseason, neutral court and competent refs. It would be a different outcome. Long shot, I know. But one can dream.
-
A smile on Kate's face after the 2nd make in a row. Good to see. Go get 'em.
-
Is Kate physically sound? She almost looks labored running the court at times. I hope she isn't fighting knee issues. It might be the losses, or the caliber of teams putting the clamps on her, but she appears to be struggling a bit. Probably nothing a winning streak won't cure. I need to remember, the season is just beginning, and half the team is new. It will take some time. GBR

Won't be a lot of W's this preseason, but hopefully, the experience will prepare them for the BIG. The newbies should be past the "deer in the headlights" stage by now. We've played some really good teams, and Louisville, might be the best of the bunch.

No info on Angela Dugalic, but while we're on the subject, I have a similar question on an Omaha player. I see in the World Herald today, Akoy Agau has a 6' 3" sister, Achol Agau, that is receiving D1 attention. She is an Omaha Gross junior. Does anyone know if she is on the Lady Huskers radar, or is D1 caliber?

Well done Ladies!

Announcers might be a little biased, but sounds like these refs might not be at the top of their field.

They seemed to light a fire with Kate the 2nd half. She played much better. Still hate to see her pick up a fifth foul 25 feet from the bucket. Much tighter substitute patterns when the game was on the line. Good preseason experience. Coaches should have a good idea who to count on, come conference games. Still loose with the ball. Also, didn't seem really organized for final plays. Coaches need the early games too.
-
Would like to see the ball in her hands at the end of a game.
-
Maybe making the free throws will help.
-
Play by play sounds like we are playing an international team. We started ok. Just need to regroup.
-
Thanks. Doesn't look like anything too serious. She seems to be moving around OK.
-
Just tuned in. Looks like Hudson got the start over Whitish.
-
I know it was only one game, but.... Three key returners, Whitish, Simon, and Cain, all were sluggish. My biggest disappointment, Kate. I was excited to see what a year in the weight room would do for her. I didn't see any noticeable improvement in strength, verticality, or conditioning. Still reaching for silly fouls and playing small for her size. Hannah played so nonchalant. Is that by design? Maddie, was just "off". Not sure where her head was. Any chance some of the players were under the weather a bit? The new kids were a joy to watch. This will be an entertaining year, regardless of record. Coach Williams has plenty of coaching ammo she can use from this game. Already looking forward to the next game.

Vets seem to be sleep walking, compared to the newbies.

Seems to be working. They have a nice team.

This one has tightened up considerably. Setting up to be a "nail biter".
