  1. And I respectfully disagree. I have the opposite experience. Will players taught effort and aggressiveness ever equal those with the natural gift? Not even close.
  2. At the rate its going I'm not sure it needs to be accelerated. Remember when it was transitional?...Good times
  3. I was actually thinking of making a joke about inflation as a way of explaining away why its such a large buyout. I just couldn't put the joke together though ☹
  4. I think the biggest factor that will determine the success of this team going forward will be, regardless of coach, the number of current players we can keep on our roster. The more players we keep the more success we have. I have seen things from most of our players I like and that I think if they were developed could be great assets to this team. I see some talent. Development takes time. We really haven't got chance to see that big jump from year 1 to year 2 because of the roster flipping. Effort can be taught. Aggressive play can be taught. These guys can be taught.
  5. Also, we are not in a recession...yet. So the fix for that would be to let him go now. BOOM! No justification needed
  6. GRANT MCCASLAND https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_McCasland
  7. CUONZO MARTIN https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuonzo_Martin
  8. I'm definitely not against it. Its has as much validity (if not more) in rational as the other avenues we've tried. Who are some coaches that fit this criteria?
  9. It's a current sad state we are in across the board in men's sports. So much so my brother in law barely teases me about Nebraska anymore. Man did I talk up Hoiberg (and to a lesser extent Frost) and the success that was inevitably coming. Big oof.
  10. I married into a family where my brother in law is the men's head tennis coach of the badgers...its been brutal.

  12. Yay math! Busy at the moment but this seems like an easy calculation I am going to do when I get some time UNLESS someone beats me to it
  13. JEFF LINDER https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Linder
  14. MARK TURGEON https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Turgeon
  15. Do tell why. Honestly I would like to know. I know little of him other than a few coaching stops he's been to.
  16. So far I think I like this Grant gentleman the best out of the choices I have listed. Makes 1.6M a year. 55 y.o. African American. Coached in P5. Got fired. Rose from the ashes. I like it.
  17. ANTHONY GRANT https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Grant_(basketball) https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/dayton-coach-anthony-grants-career-is-on-the-rise-again-after-earning-naismith-mens-coach-of-the-year-honors/amp/
  18. Didn't expect to see going back to the Colorado State well is a viable option. NIKO MEDVED https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niko_Medved&ved=2ahUKEwjWiqOQ8uv1AhVaIkQIHa6tAqkQFnoECCoQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2b8-StYt7UfG3P1-Qgn7lR
  19. Seing this name on a bunch of lists too. Believe he's been mentioned on here too. DENNIS GATES https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Gates
  20. Pretty sure I already know it.
  21. Rick Pitino https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Pitino
  22. Just came across a name I did not expect to see. Seeing him on a few lists of "Midmajor Coaches About to make a Big Jump" List basically naming 8 - 10 midmajor coaches about to jump to a Power5 conference. Anyhoo, how do we feel about Rick Pitino ?
  23. No but I bet if he got Matt A he could turn things around
  24. Not saying he would. I'm just compling names and He's who I started with To add it looks like after reading the 2nd article I posted I assume he may be cost prohibitive even if he wanted to come here and even if we wanted him.
  25. Craig Smith https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Smith_(basketball,_born_1972 3.5M looks like a STEAL (at the time) after seeing this article https://usustatesman.com/column-why-did-craig-smith-leave-utah-state/ Nice little Q&A when he was hired by the Utes https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.deseret.com/platform/amp/2021/5/26/22446516/runnin-utes-basketball-utah-hoops-craig-smith-new-coach-larry-krystkowiak-pac-12-contenders
