  1. Newton's third law of motion is that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Fire a gun? Bullet goes out the barrel and you get recoil. In shooting a basketball, in order to maintain your balance while your hands move an object forward, there has to be some equal force from your legs moving forward or your body will tilt backwards when you shoot. Call it recoil. What I don't like is the butt sticking way out on the shot as your way of reacting to Newton's third law. It's an added moving part that makes repetition and consistency more difficult to achieve. See Trey McGowens for example:
  2. Happy for this. But contrast with our other Pitt transfer. In a just NCAA world, Shamiel would have played as a sophomore last season.
  3. I think Cross would have eventually been a lot better than he was. But if you ask me to choose between Cross, as a guy who would occupy a scholarship for three more years, or Eduardo Andre, as a guy who would occupy that spot for 4, I'd take Andre as having more upside potential in the long term. Kevin would not have seen as much PT this season, if he'd stayed, as he saw last year. I think he made the right call to leave.
  4. Red. And then white. Sleep well tonight, my friend. You're welcome.
  5. This raises an interesting question: Is there anyone from last year's roster who left with eligibility remaining who you wish was still on the team? Cam Mack Dachon Burke Jervay Green Kevin Cross Samari Curtis Would you bump anyone from the current roster in order to make room for any of the above? I'm thinking maaaaybe Dachon Burke, but he'd be about it. I think Coach Hoiberg has used the available scholarships very well to replace those spots.
  6. Very huge. Game changing.
  7. LOL, yeah. Fortunately, he's not going to be one of our primary ball handlers. But I could see him getting serious minutes, especially if his jump shot is as legit as it looks in the video.
  8. I think we can start to predict some starting lineup possibilities now.
  9. After watching the footage below, I have some optimism that his shooting accuracy will have a Thor-esque transformation. He looks better than he did a year ago. https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball
  10. I'm seeing pictures for the first time ... https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster
  11. Looks like we're his first Power 5 offer.
  12. Excellent news. I really like this kid.
  13. Well, it's no longer Thursday "morning" anywhere on earth and Robin continues to hit it out of the park with his predictions.
  14. I've also heard today is the day and Futurecast on Rivals has him 100% to Nebraska, which might not be a very good sign.
  15. So, if we're evening out the teams to make them competitive by moving Yvan to the whites and bringing in Eduardo Andre, then Yvan must be going in beast mode in practices this fall. "You can take the rest of the starters and Andre; we'll take Yvan. Losers run. Deal?"
  16. Well, that doesn't exactly inspire confidence, now, does it?
  17. The other interesting thing is that, of the red team players, only Banton was even on the roster last year and none of them have returning minutes. None of the guys with returning minutes are in red jerseys. Considering we only won 7 games last year, that's probably a good sign.
  18. I would tend to think red is presumptive starters, which means I would also tend to think they think McGowens will play. How would you read it?
  19. I gotta think they wouldn't be playing him on the red team if they thought he was going to have to sit this year.
  20. A few days later it was the same red team ...
  21. In that clip, it was Kobe, Yvan, Akol, Elijah and Shamiel. So, yes, except swap Derrick and Thor for Akol and Elijah.
  22. 6'4, 6'6, 6'9, 6'9, 6'10 sure beats whatever we were last year.
  23. Seems like this would be similar to someone from Lincoln going to college here and majoring in grammar.
