Iowa barely made the top 100 with only 1 3-star commit. Apparently, Fran ran out of kids.

I'm way ahead of you.

There's another way to look at this: It's BECAUSE of the investment we've made, which put 15,000 fans in the seats, without which maybe we don't land a Fred Hoiberg as head coach, without whom we don't land a Bryce McGowens. It's that unrequited loyalty that put us in position to have a day like the one we're having today. And having players like the ones we'll have are going to make "winning an NCAA tourney game" a modest goal along the way to much higher ambitions.

But don't expect an official announcement on the recruiting class because they still haven't finalized the schedule yet.

5-star Bryce McGowens is a Husker

All those kicks in the balls over the years in recruiting? Well ... Who was that guy who went to Memphis after committing here? I don't even remember his name, bitches. -
5-star Bryce McGowens is a Husker

I wasn't racing; I was just soooo excited. I'm still pumped. We can't have enough "5-star Bryce McGowens is a Husker" threads on the main board. -
Will @hhcmatt allow me to drop an f-bomb just this once to express how phuquing stoked I am?

Apparently, I type just a liiitttle bit faster than @Navin R. Johnson.

The white team would give last year's roster a run for their money. Maybe more than just a run.

He's N my dudes.

Which knee was Akol going to have surgery on? Anyone know?

Surely, someone wrote a song called "Georgia sucks, don't go there."

Fingers crossed. This kid is a plus plus athlete. If he can groove his jumper and learn to play lock-down defense, he has the potential to be a real contributor.

Reminds me of getting married. I wanted a short engagement so that there was little time for her to change her mind. Let's just get the signed LOI. Then we can get fat, drink beer and fart in her presence.

Oh, gawd, they can't phuque it up now, can they?

Preliminary starting lineup for 21-22

Damn. I harbored hope, based on what I'd seen of his jumper, that he could learn to play lockdown D and eventually find a role. That's too bad. -
Yeah. You don't hold off announcing the schedule while waiting for the recruiting class to be announced. And you don't hold off announcing the recruiting class while waiting for the schedule to be finalized. You hold off announcing the schedule because THE SCHEDULE isn't finalized and you hold off announcing the recruiting class because ... you're about to land the first 5-star in program history.

2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI
Norm Peterson replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I can live with the walk. The fact he can catch a lob and dunk two-handed suggests he has reasonable hops, which, as I understand it, correlates with quickness. -
2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI

Keisei dunking in warmups. Kid has some hops. -
Thank you. It's true. Our ROI hasn't been great but the heartbreak has been.

2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI
Norm Peterson replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Nah, the comparison I was making was not on accuracy. It was the ability to stress the defense by being able to elevate and shoot off a dribble. And Ray could do that going one way but Big Ten scouting being what it is, they figured out he could ONLY go one way. And they didn't give it to him. Keisei, on the other hand, can shoot off the dribble going either to his left or to his right. Which is a pretty good attribute to possess. If Keisei is in the game, you better go over the top of all ball screens when he has the ball because he won't need much room to get off a shot. -
Preliminary starting lineup for 21-22

I loved Benny Parker. All 5'7" and 29% from three of him. His hustle and grit and unselfish play were to be admired. But I think we're entering an era of Husker Hoops where a 5'7" guy who can't shoot very well from outside isn't going to be a part of the plan going forward. -

Two recruits signed. At least one more expected. If that comes to fruition, then guys on next year's roster (the year after this year) who will be able to shoot the absolute phuhque out of the deep ball would include: Keisei Tominaga Trevor Lakes Bryce McGowens Others who should be at least competent threats from deep would include: Trey McGowens Elijah Wood Teddy Allen Shamiel Stevenson Kobe Webster Lat Mayen There have been years where we couldn't put any more than 2 guys on the floor at any one time who were legit shooters. Where we had no hope of shooting another team out of a packed-in zone. Where they prevented us from driving and dared us to shoot and we couldn't make them pay. Not any more, suckers. Zone this, bitches.
