Opposing player to watch:  Meyers Leonard

The 7-footer with the backwards name has gone from freshman push-around to a major force currently averaging 13 point and 8 rebounds a game for the Illini.  He isn't always the focal point of the offense though as there have been several games where he has barely touched the ball.  Hopefully Ubel can deny or frustrate him early enough that the rest of his teammates will forget about him.
Opposing player to watch:  Brandon Paul

The weight of the Illinois offense is probably going to rest on Jr. Paul's shoulder this weekend due to the recent injuries suffered by the Illini.  Look for Paul to play both the point and shooting guard depending on the personnel on the court and watch for him to aggressively attack the rim.  While he's one of the few Illini that shoots free throws he is one of their worst shooters, missing about 1/3rd.  Consider how often he's turned the ball over this year, the Huskers should attack right back.

Opposing infirmary:  D.J. Richardson and Sam Maniscalco

Illinois is going to be without Bradley point guard Sam Maniscalco (who received a medical redshirt after sitting out most of his senior year) and probably without leading scorer D.J. Richardson.

So you're saying we have a chance

The last couple of weeks have been pretty rough for the Huskers with a combination of injuries and facing some of the best teams in the country.  A road trip to Champaign is not exactly what the doctor ordered but the crazy thing is that the Huskers are running into an Illini team with injury problems of their own.  Scoring is going to be at a premium on Saturday as a lot of the heavy hitters will be sitting this game out.  In such a low scoring game it's going to come down to whichever team can break out of their funk of not making it to the line or not hitting an outside shot.  The Huskers really have a shot to do so....too bad it's not this game.

Prediction:  Illini 60 - Huskers 56 with a 65% of last second heart break
