Mascot: Badgers
Shirt color not to wear: Packer's Gear/Cheese heads
Opposing player to watch: Jordan Taylor
The only good news about the Preseason All-American Badger point guard? He's struggled to shoot the ball this year. Otherwise he's not going to turn the ball over much and his assist to turnover ratio is one of the best in the country.
- Opposing player to watch: Ben Brust
Your obligatory 3pt shooter. Brust oozes with confidence and will shoot nearly any time he's open. The Huskers haven't been disciplined enough to cover this guy most of the season. Will they be tonight?
Welcome to the BiG 10
When Nebraska basketball found out it was heading to the BiG, it was the Badgers that most people thought the Huskers resembled: A team whose goal was to allow you to score as little as possible. Tonight the Huskers will truly need to put this to the test with offensive players Jorge Brian Diaz and Dylan Talley once again out with nagging injuries. The crazy thing is that this might allow the Huskers that are playing to maintain a bit of flow to the game and realistically most of the minutes from the Bagders come from six players.
Another cause for optimism is that the Huskers physically match up fairly well against the Badgers. The strength of Wisconsin is in their back court and their best post player should be handled by Ubel most of the game. The Huskers have been fairly content to chuck up 3pters during most of the the year so the Badger's defense really isn't going to take them out of their game plan.
This game comes down to easy baskets: who is going to score them and who is going to give them up. If the Huskers can't find shooters tonight this is going to be an ugly team for the NU Red. However, it's not going to take a huge offensive night from the Huskers to win this thing as anything over 50 is going to keep you in the game. In the end, it's all going to come down to Bo Spencer. If he hit his first couple of shots, be ready to stay for the entire game.
Prediction: Badgers 53 - Huskers 46 with a 76% chance of Free Runzas for Husker fans and 89% chance of whatever fast food chain sponsors the Badgers
