ledlightning Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Great to have the new board for the coming season. Thanks to the staff for doing all this, makes husker BB that much more fun. My hope is that this Miles team will make statistically significant improvement in Rebounding the basket ball, these last several years under Doc Rebounding got progressively better but was at the end, still the single stat that seemed to be the difference in so many close games, points from 2nd and 3rd attempts...very low conversion. Points from transition, were underrated in much of our recent history...Anyone think this will change?. Not having any knowledge of Coach Miles systems I would like to know if rebounding is emphasised. Nice to have a new season ahead, looking forward to the board and all its contributors. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 At least one reason we did not get a lot of second and third chances via offense rebounds under Doc, was his demand for the team to get back on defense. Not at all saying that there is anything wrong with that approach, but different coaches have different expectations. Quote
doctorhoops Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 We will rebound. Mostly on the defensive end. Don't see us getting much on the offensive end though. Quote
uneblinstu Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 Almedia will be a solid rebounder as will Ubel. IIRC, Talley was pretty good at it himself. Wouldn't expect much out of the guards, though Gallegos is pretty athletic he might be a factor. I'd expect this to be an area we see improvement, not sure to what extent, though. Quote
