On a throwback Thursday, Rayes posted on social media a #TBT with this picture. I'd love to have a veteran 3 & D guard like him in 2016-17. He improved himself in his 5 years at NU, and become a key component of the tourney run of 2013-14. Go Big Rayes~! GBR

Consummate 3 and D guy.  Rey really improved his defense very similarly to Tai.  He was a terror on the perimeter defensively by his senior year.

Rayes was one of my favorite Huskers. He continually got better each and every year, especially from the 3-point line. He was also very quiet and rarely showed much emotion. Which is why my favorite memory of him is when the Huskers beat a pretty good USC team in Devaney. The USC player was talking smack to Rayes for most of the game, and after Rayes hit a big 3-point shot to put them up for good, he got right up in the USC players face and got the last word. Makes me laugh every time I think of it.

he definitely fell off as a 3 point shooter his senior year but man he took care of the rock and played great d!!

According to espn.com he actually improved as a 3 pt shooter percentage-wise between his junior and senior seasons. It just seems like he fell off because he wasn't the high volume shooter his senior season as he was his junior. They didn't need him to be.
