  1. I think I need to get on the Kaleb Wesson diet. If Bucknuts can hold on over final 9 minutes, B1G will win it. Otherwise it's a tie.
  2. #$@$@ @#@#$@@ &$#@(#(@#$ #$#@$#@% bluebirds 83 NU 62
  3. Series tied, 4 - 4 - home teams are 4-4 so far & only 1 of the 8 games has been decided by single digits. Clearly, all of these stats point to an NU blowout win in Atlanta Wednesday. Monday & Tuesday scores at Minnesota 78, Clemson 60 Northwestern 82, at Boston College 64 Iowa 68, at Syracuse 54 at Indiana 80, Florida St 64 Miami 81, at Illinois 79 at Louisville 58, Michigan 43 at Pitt 71, Rutgers 60 Duke 87, at Michigan St 75 Wednesday, Dec. 4 **6:15 pm – Nebraska at Georgia Tech, ESPNU 6:15 pm – Virginia at Purdue, ESPN2 6:30 pm – Notre Dame at Maryland, ESPN 8:15 pm – Wake Forest at Penn St, ESPNU 8:15 pm – Wisconsin at NC State, ESPN2 8:30 pm – Ohio St at North Carolina, ESPN
  4. Wednesday point spreads Nebraska at Georgia Tech (-9) Virginia at Purdue (-3 1/2) Notre Dame at Maryland (-9) Wake Forest at Penn St (-11 1/2) Wisconsin at NC State (-5) Ohio St at North Carolina (-2 1/2)
  5. Series tied, 1-1 - Illinois loses as a home favorite & puts the B1G in an early hole. Monday scores Miami 81, at Illinois 79 at Minnesota 78, Clemson 60 Tuesday, Dec. 3 6 pm – Northwestern at Boston Coll, ESPNU 6 pm – Iowa at Syracuse, ESPN2 6:30 pm – Michigan at Louisville, ESPN 8 pm – Rutgers at Pitt, ESPNU 8 pm – Florida St at Indiana, ESPN2 8:30 pm – Duke at Michigan St, ESPN Wednesday, Dec. 4 **6:15 pm – Nebraska at Georgia Tech, ESPNU 6:15 pm – Virginia at Purdue, ESPN2 6:30 pm – Notre Dame at Maryland, ESPN 8:15 pm – Wake Forest at Penn St, ESPNU 8:15 pm – Wisconsin at NC State, ESPN2 8:30 pm – Ohio St at North Carolina, ESPN Tuesday point spreads Northwestern at Boston Coll (-2) Iowa at Syracuse (-4) Michigan at Louisville (-5 1/2) Rutgers at Pitt (-3 1/2) Florida St at Indiana (-2 1/2) Duke at Michigan St (-6) If the favorites hold serve, ACC will lead 5-3 after Tuesday.
  6. Point spreads for Monday Miami at Illinois -8 Clemson at Minny -3
  7. Yeah, it's not going to matter. But here's a quick peek at our Quad opportunities, based on current NET pseudo rankings. (Understanding, of course, that NU is #48 in NET right now, which seems just a weeeeeeeeeee bit off, so it may take a few more weeks before the NET rankings actually mean something.) Bottom line: If by some major, major, major miracle we get this thing rolling at some point soon, we'll have plenty of Q1 and Q2 chances to make up for the early stumbles.

  10. Scores so far today Colo St 61, Loyola 60 New Mex St 65, USF 45 So when we win tonight, we play the Aggies for the title - revenge for the 1993 team is on the way.
  11. Huh. Fake high 5s fit right in with some of the Ts Palmer & Cope received the past few years. Nice to see our rep continuing, even outside the continental 48. Watched a game in the first few days of the season, can't remember who was playing, where the FT shooter did that, forgetting his teammates weren't there, so the opposing team high 5'd him. If only Wazzu players had high 5'd him back, there wouldn't have been a T. Jerks.
  12. Nice of them to give the Mavs some love, but we beat Wazzu by 11, Omaha only beat them by 8, so by the infallible law of comparing scores, clearly NU is #1 in the state. The Counciltucky Bluejays clearly are not part of Nebraska - just waiting on the Unicameral to do the right thing and redraw the state border.
  13. Good start! Scores Monday: New Mexico St 78 - Colo St 70 (ot) USF 66 - Loyola 55 George Mason 60 - ODU 53 Nebraska 82 - Wazzu 71 Tuesday, Nov. 26 10 am – Losers bracket - Colorado State vs Loyola 12:30 pm – Winners bracket - New Mexico St vs USF 4 pm – Losers bracket - Old Dominion vs Wazzu **6:30 pm – Winners bracket - George Mason vs Nebraska Wednesday, Nov. 27 10 am – 7th place game (CSU/Loy loser vs ODU/Wazzu loser) 12:30 pm – 5th place game (CSU/Loy winner vs ODU/Wazzu winner) **4 pm – 3rd place game (NMSt/USF loser vs NU/GMU loser) **6:30 pm – Championship game (NMSt/USF winner vs NU/GMU winner) NU looking to reach its first 8-team in-season championship game since 2000 (also last time the Huskers hoisted a trophy)
  14. While I expect the Huskers to take multiple steps forward all season, I fully expect my position in the standings to take several/dozens of steps backward.
  15. Scores Monday: New Mexico St 78 - Colo St 70 (ot) USF 66 - Loyola 55 George Mason 60 - ODU 53 Not much offense so far. Updated schedule: Monday, Nov. 25 **6:30 pm – Nebraska vs Washington St Tuesday, Nov. 26 10 am – Losers bracket - Colorado State vs Loyola 12:30 pm – Winners bracket - New Mexico St vs USF **4 pm – Losers bracket - Old Dominion vs NU/WSU **6:30 pm – Winners bracket - George Mason vs NU/WSU Wednesday, Nov. 27 10 am – 7th place game 12:30 pm – 5th place game 4 pm – 3rd place game 6:30 pm – Championship game
  16. Point spreads for Monday New Mex St -4.5 vs Colorado St Loyola -1.5 vs USF ODU -2 vs George Mason Wazzu -1 vs Nebraska
  17. That's crazy. I didn't know OKC had a team in the Prison League. Good on him for finding employment. Plus, he doesn't need to coach long, as he'll be drawing Social Security in a couple of years.
  18. Here's what Wazzu's coach said afterward: “I think we lost focus,” Washington State coach Kyle Smith said. “They have good guards and they were relentless about attacking, and we were terrible all night about defensive transitions.” Wherever he is, Cam Mack just smiled.
  19. Leading scorers vs WSU way back when: Hamilton 26 Belcher 18 T Piatkowski 17 Chad Johnson 13 No way I would've gotten more than 2 out of 4 without looking it up. By the way, WSU plays UNO tomorrow night, I think it's on the Pac-12 Network at 6, if you want to have a local reason to check out the Cougs.
