i was wrong, but, when Purdue was 8-10 in the conference last season, i thought there was a pretty good chance she would be gone. although, maybe that little run in the Big Ten Tourney calmed the seas a bit. it included a second game win over Nebraska. i was rather surprised to see Purdue lost to Minnesota at home. Even though Pitts had support from many of the players on the minnesota squad, it appears Whalen may have things under control. Minny is playing well.

well, i just don't have a good feeling about this one. maryland is due to put a complete game together. playing at home, this could very well be the night. i won't be shocked if maryland wins big-----20+. i think maryland comes right out of the gate with that pressure defense----which could make it a very long night. wish i felt different, but..........it is what it is. think most will agree maryland has the potential to be that good.

ya know, i might compare this to the same thing that coach frost has been going through. watched some of the highlights from the illinois game. the young players played pretty darn well. freshman scalia may be a diamond in the rough for the gophers. not sure how many P5 offers she had, if any. she was a 3* and rated like the 56th guard? i really am impressed by her game. she has dropped some long 3 pt'ers. she is one of the best in the big ten as a freshman. wouldn't surprise me at all that coach whalen smooths things out once she establishes her culture. might take another year or two. i don't know if she will be fighting for a big ten championship, but, think she will have minny consistently in the fight.

Gerry, Farniok's, and now Pai (sp?)....nice to see huskers entering the fray. sioux falls always seemed to be connected to the hawkeye's for some reason. maybe because okoboji is so close. when i lived near and in sioux falls always saw a lot of hawkeye flags/plates. been changing in the last decade.

if reports are true, Bello's hadn't shown up for practice (also being reported as support for Pitts). will be interesting to see if Whalen can put the crumbling pieces back together. Bello's brother sent out a tweet stating something like you can't discipline a child you don't know. one of the Bello girls retweeted it. sounds like a hot mess right now.
