  1. I sometimes daydream about next year: Rachel firing the ball into Jess in the lane. We will see some pretty passes I'm sure.
  2. Brain fart on the part of the coach, the players, or a little of both?
  3. Just reading the article in the paper. Didn't realize they were playing the #2 team in the nation. Too bad they didn't finish it out. Jess had 36 points and 11 boards and was named to the all tourney team. http://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/basketball/girls/prep-girls-basketball-last-second-shot-dooms-fremont-at-nike/article_ea77009e-953b-5ef9-a12b-4c254bbb3461.html
  4. I would love this. Would also love to have Stanford on our schedule. Big name school, and I have a feeling had we played this non-con season we could have won (with everyone healthy).
  5. I believe Fremont had pulled to within 10, but then had to commit some fouls. All in all, I would say they hung with them pretty good, better than I expected. Knock down a few more of those early free-throws and a few more of those open looks and this could have been much more competitive at the end. They had a 5'8" girl guarding Samuelson (who I believe is 6'3"). Not sure how many points Samuelson had.
  6. Fremont loses 59-44. Unofficially, Jess with 21 points and 10 rebounds. I guess it takes three D1 recruits on defense to keep her from scoring over 30.
  7. 56-44 Fremont down with about 90 seconds left in half. Jess with 4 fouls. Not sure how many points she has.
  8. High School Cube. You can set up a free account and find it. It was easy to do, but the video quality isn't the best (or maybe my eyes are just old).
  9. Fremont down 28-20 at half. Too bad Fremont can't hit their free throws. I can't watch much longer, so the updates won't be coming very often.
  10. Fremont down 23-19 with 52 seconds left in half. Mater Dei has way better outside shooters than Fremont. Someone else needs to consistently find their shot for Fremont. Jess being triple teamed now, hard to get a pass into her.
  11. Tied 18-18 with 4:06 left in half. Fremont in double bonus.
  12. 12-12 at the end of the 1st. Mater Dei committed 6 fouls by about the 4 minute mark in the first quarter. Want to say all but 1 were trying to stop Jess. Believe she has 6 points. Another girl from Fremont has knocked down a couple of 3s.
  13. Sounds like her team took a beating from Harlan, Iowa, last night. I'm a little surprised by that, maybe I shouldn't be. I think Harlan is ranked #1 in their class in Iowa.
  14. It says 11:20, but I am not sure of the time zone.
  15. I stand corrected - Fremont scored 54 points and Jess and Riley accounted for 48 of those points. http://www.neprepzone.com/basketball/jessica-shepard-s-points-lead-fremont-to-win-at-nike/article_293d96a4-8700-11e4-ad3d-9f900512bf60.html
  16. Ladies should be well-rested for this game. Would be nice to see Natalie Romeo on the court again. Hoping Emily Wood also gets some minutes tomorrow.
  17. I expect a tough game for Fremont. Jess will be double-teamed, maybe even triple-teamed. The rest of the girls will really need to step up. I think Jess has been over 50% of their offense every game so far this year (and probably last year as well). Jess' younger sister played some yesterday and did some good things. I believe Riley Jensen had 10 points, so of the 57 points scored, Jess + Riley had 48 of them. Somebody else needs to be able to score and help out today.
  18. Jess had 38 points and 20 boards today. http://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/basketball/girls/prep-girls-basketball-shepard-s-leads-fremont-past-bishop-o/article_e206182e-e417-56ae-9d6c-ae248a802e42.html Next up, #5 Mater Dei.
  19. If you go to High School Cube right now and create a free account, you can watch Jess and her Fremont team playing in Arizona.
  20. I'm wondering if she will want to go someplace where she can participate in both basketball and track. Creighton doesn't have a track team (just cross country). However, I don't know that Yori allows players to do both, so that would be a strike against us as well.
  21. HB, are you thinking of Ibis?
  22. Don't know if NU has any interest in Chloe Akin-Otiko, but there is a nice article in the OWH today about her and how she has stepped up her game this season. Believe she is averaging 26 per game. http://www.neprepzone.com/sports/thunderbird-girls-finding-another-driving-force/article_930fea8e-bedf-50a5-be27-e80e1fc66966.html
  23. Oh, sorry. If you have a scout account, I think you should be able to log in under it.
  24. Per a KState WBB forum, the father tweeted "Children should not suffer for the sins of their father" a week ago. http://kansasstate.scout.com/forums/2672-women-s-basketball/13465559-breaking-news-fr-kaylee-page-from-wamego-leaving-nebraska?s=173
