I have suspected that Rachel may not be back this season, that this injury was a little more severe than first described. That being said, it looks like the girls are learning to play a bit better without her. The three game losing streak came against ranked teams that would have been tough for us even with Rachel playing. In all honesty, I thought we did pretty good in those games even though we didn't get a win out of any of them. If you had told me earlier in the season that we would play those games without Rachel I wouldn't have been surprised with 3 blow out losses, instead we were competitive. I'm also liking T taking some jump shots instead of trying to rely so much on the 3. That has to be tough for a team to defend her - she is streaky with the 3, can take it straight to the hoop with her speed, or pull up for a jumper and nail it. She has also had some nice passes for the occasional assist. Just need a little more consistency across the board and everyone needs to stop with the crappy passes.

Just read in the Lincoln paper that Theriot may need surgery. I'm a big fan of Jasmine Cincore - she did a good job in her few minutes in the game today.

Turnovers killed us. Also, poor shooting in the second half. Did a good job keeping Logic under control, and we rebounded well. We have some more tough games coming up - hopefully we can start putting together a complete game soon.

I'm going on the assumption that Brandi still isn't 100%, and Theriot isn't going to play. Then I think that T and/or Natalie will have to guard Logic. Neither one of them can afford foul trouble, so Cincore is the one that could bump her occasionally and frustrate her (and pick up some fouls depending on the refs). Cincore doesn't get knocked down easily.

We need to shoot way better than 33%. I would love to see Cincore used in a manner to frustrate Logic in this game. When she gets frustrated she tends to foul a lot. Get her on the bench sooner rather than later.

I noticed more than once last night that after something didn't go the way Pettaway thought it should, his teammates would go over to him and console him or push him away from whatever took place. Actually, I have noticed this in other games as well. It's almost like they have to babysit him out there. Maybe if they could focus on what they need to do as players rather than worry about how something affects Pettaway, things might be a bit better. Temper tantrums don't help the team.

I'm sick of Pettaway and his attitude. Bench him the rest of the game.

Was she the one that arrived on campus as a freshman and was out of shape, and then there were some issues with practice effort? I don't know that there was ever an official explanation, same with Katya Leick.

Didn't she have some foot issues her freshman year that slowed her down? Could this be a flare-up of whatever that was?

I'm sure there are plenty of bumps, scratches, and bruises after the game last night.

It was a tough game, and I was unaware that Theriot wasn't playing until I tuned in right at 6 p.m. I had a horrible sinking feeling, which got even worse after the first 4 minutes, but then I think once the girls sort of figured it out without Theriot, they chipped away. It was good to see that, especially coming from the younger girls. Still would have liked to have seen Kalenta in the game. I just have a bad feeling I will be watching a year from now still wondering why she is on the bench. Rutgers really tried to give this game to us, but we just couldn't find the basket.

Guess we lost by 2 because they called that last shot a 3.

At least some girls got some good minutes. I'm assuming Kalenta is gone after this season?

Really need to work on shooting.
