  1. Can we please never have Duffy umpire one of our games again. The guy is horrible.
  2. Perry should be a good 4th option in the regional.
  3. I think Perry is tiring, but a positive outing for the freshmen. Threw strikes and got 10 outs. Especially for a guy who hasn't pitched in the month of May.
  4. I wish Tillotson could get his velocity back. He had a lot of upside when he came in. The injury seemed to hurt him.
  5. Nothing else, we can make it interesting and use their good arms, and not have much left for tonight.
  6. For those that say we don't recruit power, Palensky has some pop in his bat. Schwellenbach also has some pop in his bat.
  7. The good news is Frazier is bringing back some order to the game. The bad news is we could have used him doing this tonight.
  8. Hopefully, we can get into their bullpen. Although they won't use their big arms today. I guess you don't have to be on the base with the ball to be called out. Horrible replay.
  9. I would absolutely start him.
  10. But, he might have to bat against a lefty.
  11. The good news is we should be down 10 by the end of the 7th inning, so we don't need to get too many more outs.
  12. Who do we pitch tonight? A freshmen pitcher who hasn't pitched in 1 1/2 months, and has struggled to throw strikes. A senior who has struggled to throw strikes. A senior who has gotten belted the last few outings, and hasn't started a game.
  13. The problem is Michigan isn't done batting. Absolutely horrific baserunning by Chick. You are down 7 runs, Michigan just gave you a gift, and you get thrown out at 3rd for the 3rd out.
  14. It's pitching. I guess we didn't want to keep the game close to save our bullpen. Eddins was getting hammered.
  15. Illinois almost out of inning after Michigan appeared to bounce into a bases loaded double play. The call was overturned. A run scored, and the next batter doubles in two runs to tie the game at 3 going to the 8th inning.
  16. Matt Waldron's 79 k's are the most in the Darin Erstad/Ted Silva era. Michael Mariot struck out 82 in 2010.
  17. 7 RBI's on our 4 hits. That is a good recipe for success. Good pitching, good defense, and timely hitting will win a bunch of games.
  18. I don't think it's the dimensions. 375 is pretty typical for the gap. The ball just doesn't seem to carry like Haymarket Park.
  19. It looks like we are in the 4/5 game 9 pm Wednesday night. Illinois won and have the tiebreaker over us and Minnesota.
  20. For as poorly as we were playing when we headed to Northwestern, we have been playing very well. Go figure!! A regional bid should be nearly wrapped up. Probably 1 or 2 more wins would make it safer. It would be good for the young guys to get some regional experience.
  21. We are 6 - 7 against the 2nd and 4th RPI conferences (Big 12 and Pac 12). We have enough to make noise in a regional. We are 13 - 8 in the 7th best conference according to RPI. We also can go 2 and BBQ in the Big 10 tournament, and/or regionals.
  22. 2 outs. Extra run is huge. Tying run in on-deck circle.
  23. A decision to make. Shay throws 3 strikes for the third out in the 8th. Do you bring in Gomes or stick with Shay? Maybe we can just make this decision easier and score a bunch of runs in the 8th.
  24. Can't let up on the Sun Devils, need to try to add on. Nice to see the bats come alive. ASU, near the top of the country in home runs, have 7 home runs this series. We are near the bottom of the country in home runs and have 5 this series. I hope it is the bats coming alive, and not the ASU pitching staff.
  25. I agree. A lot of hard hit balls found gloves. Mojo's DP ball was scalded right at 1b.
