  1. Still would've liked to have added Thomas. Don't understand why just because Atewe might be coming that means Thomas can't come? From my understanding they're two different players, Atewe more of a defensive presence and Thomas more of a big who could slash but also shoot? When was the last time we had a big who could stretch the floor and score?
  2. anyone have a link to watch the game online?
  3. is that a serious highlight video?
  4. Brian Rosenthal just tweeted Kevin Thomas might be visiting on Feb 16. HUGE.
  5. maybe we can convince vooch to walk on although i doubt it
  6. i figured it was pretty big. There was a kid from a local Charlotte highschool, Carson Sullivan, who was nominated for McDonalds all american. He was good but nowhere near the top prospects in the country. Ended up at penn and transferred to Guilford College in Greensboro. There's a lot of kids who get nominated by coaches or whoever and don't really have business being on the list. Not saying anything about Hawkins, just giving some background
  7. haha its all in good fun. I understand if you want me to stop promoting their chat. I think it'd be cool if we had a weekly chat of our own. A set time where all the moderators and the members came on and had a live chat about the program. Would be a pretty cool feature.
  8. i also ended the chat today with telling everyone about the site, hopefully that gets some more people over here
  9. I told a couple of the guys who were chatting during the MSU game about the board over here, I don't want to bring it up when the football people are talking/trolls are out. Dont want to bring any unwanted trolls here but yes, I do bring up this board over there.
  10. This is good news! maybe he wont end up redshirting after all
  11. half of this should go in the recruiting section and half shouldn't so im just posting it here. to summarize the BR chat today he basically said the following He thinks there will definitely be roster turnover next year, although he didn't give any specific names. He agreed with my point about Benny being overmatched in B1G play. Said he's baffled as to why Sergej doesn't play at least a little bit. I asked about if he thought he couldve helped against the 7 footer last night and he said he thought he should've played a little. Said the reason they haven't offered Kevin Thomas is because they're making sure he's an "all around fit for the program". He did say he'd expect Thomas to take an official visit here. Said he could see Petteway as a 3 or a 4 next year. Personally, I'd like to have Kevin Thomas at the 3 and Petteway at the 4.
  12. next one is wednesday at 12 ct, hope to see everyone there!
  13. hey everyone, there's a chat with BR going on over on husker extra right now, would love for some of y'all to stop by and chat husker hoops with me. he's pretty fired up about miles and his comments last night after the game (in a good way)
  14. This is perfect for me to segment into my next question, which is, what happens if we drop this game? What if we lose on a buzzer beater? What if we get blown out? At 0-5 you have to believe this team might see the writing on the wall to a certain extent. These are the same guys who, by the end of last year, appeared to be just going through the motions. (Maybe that had something to do with them knowing Doc's future, but still). Teams can come back from 0-4 in the conference. 0-5 might be too much though.
  15. I'm asking because I just read through the HHC predictions, and I'm wondering if as a fan base, do we expect to win this game? Should we expect to win this game? Will you be let down if we lose it? The last two losses weren't as hard to take because we were nearly 20 point underdogs in one and 25 point dogs in another, but with this being considered a "winnable" game by a lot of people, would you be disappointed if we came up with a similar result, say to the MSU game?
  16. But seriously, next time there's a chat with BR on there I'll make a post about it on here. Would love to have some people represent the Husker Hoops Fan base and have a real, engaging conversation on there.
  17. Alright i'm on board, a jar of cipsalsa it is!
  18. Game was in the XL center, not on campus. There's way more seats there than in the on campus stadium. We're still on winter break so there probably wasn't a ton of students there.
  19. I've heard/read quite a bit about this cipsalsa. Would love to try some, although living in NC might be a hassle.
  20. Hey y'all. You start this thread during a game. Y'all are either a troll or a really rude LJS plant who is trying to drum up hits for a loser website. Maybe both..... really? I've posted on this site for the past four or so years off and on. I was watching the game and I was chatting over there as well as over here. Sorry that I live in North Carolina and use the word "y'all". I go to school at UConn, as mentioned in the Atewe thread. So no, I have no affiliation with the LJS. I could care less about them, I just want to talk Husker basketball and get annoyed with the chat over there when its just me, brian rosenthal, and two other guys. Seriously, check the old HHC. I'm the one who started the thread about Okafor taking his visit here. Just because I don't post on here every day doesn't mean I'm employed by the LJS. Sorry I don't have the time for 5,000 posts, Cipsucks.
  21. Hey y'all, I don't mean to push a different site on everyone here, because I love this site. However, when this board gets a little slow, I usually head over to the LJS "litter box" and try to talk some basketball over there, and there's usually only one or two other people who will chat about bball on there. It'd be nice to have more people chat over there as well as over here. BR tweets and has a weekly bball chat on there, would be cool to have some of us who are on here stop by on there and show the program some love.
  22. Storrs is in the middle of nowhere. It's farmland located 40 minutes or so east of Hartford. However, the following cities are nearby: NYC 2 hours Boston 2 hours Hartford 40 minutes Providence 1 hour 10 minutes Plus we play half our home games, most of our Big East home games, in Hartford. There is a brand new practice facility going up on campus right behind Gampel (our arena). Storrs itself is making improvements too. There are a lot of new businesses/buildings going up around the campus and there's a lot of positive energy around campus right now. We're hoping to build our football stadium on campus within the next ten or so years, and that would kind of complete everything. Storrs has grown on me ever since I started going to school there.
  23. Agau is much better than Atewe right now. Not even close. His upside might be as good as Agaus, but you would be crazy not to want Agau right now. Agau would start for NU and UCONN next year where Atewe will likely max out at 15 minutes off the bench. Atewe should be solid by the time he is a junior if he develops some offense. I'm just talking about in terms of a pure fit. Would it have been nice to have had Agau commit to UConn? Absolutely. However I'm more upset that we lost him to Louisville who we have to play next year than I am that we lost him in general. I think he reminds me a lot of DeAndre Daniels, who we have on our roster. Atewe would be a bigger get purely off of need. When I say I'm glad he didn't come here, I'm more talking for his sake, since I think he wouldn't have had the minutes he was looking for/he would be used like Daniels in this system, which really isn't saying much considering what DeAndre Daniels has shown this year.
  24. I currently am a Sophomore at UConn so let me give you some background on why we would be interested in signing Atewe. 1. Because of the sanctions, we lost 4 of our bigs. Drummond (draft) Michael Bradley (Transfer) Alex Oriakhi (Transfer) Roscoe Smith (Transfer). We need big bodies. 2. The bigs we are left with currently are softer than a bowl of ice cream sitting in the street in the middle of July. Wolf is terrible and Olander is at best a 15/20 minutes per game stretch 4 who comes off the bench to provide something different. Without Oriakhi, we have nobody who can protect the rim- which is why Atewe is so important. I think it makes sense for us to try and land him. Agau I didn't think filled a need for UConn and I'm glad he didn't come here (although I'm not happy he's at Louisville). Atewe fills a need definitely, but I don't know if Kevin Ollie (KO) has taken a serious look at him yet. KO wants the guards to play in your face man to man pressure on the perimeter, which leaves you vulnerable to getting beat off the dribble, which is why he needs Atewe to be at the rim to protect.
  25. Saw him tweeting about the Husker/Demon Deacon game tonight. Had a couple of tweets about Nebrasketball. Anything new on him? Are we a real contender for him or not?
