New uniforms for the wisconsin game.
hhcscott replied to FredsSlacks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
" AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE FRIGGIN MAN SKORTS THAT THEY WEAR IN BASKETBALL....DAMN YOU MICHAEL JORDAN!" Are those kid off your yard yet? ;-) I have to say I agree. Nebraska has a brand already and all the novelty uniforms just scream MERCHANDISING (in Mel Brooks' voice) No black unis. No one game only unis. Red white and let's leave the other guys black and blue. Go Big RED. -
Ohio State Game Thread: Hang on to your hopes, my friend....
hhcscott replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The unfortunate thing is, based on the way the first B1G game was officiated, Andre was not being penalized for his size like he has in the non-conference, the officials were letting them play, which would have opened up lot of opportunities for a physical post player. If Vucetic has to step in for Almeida, even partially, that physical style would actually be to his detriment. -

The first one I thought of was Steve Henson, but Henson was annoying offensively too. King of the floor burn. -

Aaron Craft is a difference maker even without scoring. I think Peltz could play that role with the Huskers but I don't think he would get the same leeway with the officials. I appreciate Craft's game and if he played for a team I didn't despise he'd be a player I enjoy watching, but please tell me how he is only called for 1 foul in 29 minutes of raking grabbing and slapping at the ball? Don't get me wrong. I thought the officiating last night was very good, especially the lack of ticky tack fouls, but if Craft can play that way without getting a couple of fouls called then the Huskers need to be playing a lot more aggressively on defense. -
I'm submitting this via phone so please excuse the brevity. OFFENSE: D I have to go with the D over the F because you can't blow that many layups without having worked really hard to get in position to blow those layups. The Huskers looked rushed and harried from the opening tip. Dylan Talley's lack of offense and Ubel's struggles in the first half meant we needed two players to step up. Gallegos did his part but the Shields/Rivers card was a bust and the Huskers folded. Almeida had some solid offense but rushed a few shots and never established himself as a threat.DEFENSE: C- Most of the game, the Huskers defense was solid but after falling behind early it needed to be suffocating. REBOUNDING: D Huskers were out rebounded 35-29 and were nearly even on offensive boards. Considering the hot UTEP shooting early there weren't many rebounds to get. Ubel and Almeida are much bigger and stronger than the slender Bohannon who finished with 11 boards while the Huskers were led by Talley's 8. The Huskers were slow to the ball and would get only one hand on the ball when two are needed. BALL HANDLING: B Ten turnovers not bad especially on the road. A lot of sure assists were missed by unsure shots. COACHING: C- Offense got shots. Huskers were close to the Miners in all statistical categories except made baskets. Miles used timeouts to try to stop the Miners. Huskers just could not make any shots early and could not cut the lead the rest of the way. OVERALL GRADE: D Woulda coulda shoulda game. Miners punched the Huskers early and the Huskers just did not have the offense to play better than even the rest of the way. PLAYER OF THE GAME: Ray Gallegos. Works harder than anyone to get open and makes shots when he gets a inch of space. 2012-2013 PLAYER OF THE GAME RESULTS: RAY GALLEGOS - 5 DYLAN TALLEY - 3 BRANDON UBEL - 2 DAVID RIVERS - 1 SHAVON SHIELDS - 1 Click here to view the article

The technical was on a blocking foul when Parker had position and was playing good defense. Miles said "he had position". No profanity. No histrionics. That ref was making poor calls all night. Only thing I can imagine is Miles said something earlier and the guy had one preloaded next time Miles spoke up. -

All Miles said to the ref was "he has position" and the ref gave him the technical. -

We're headed to the burrito stand now. Brisket for my wife but I'm having the bean, only on your say so, so I'm hoping the quality has not diminished. I looked for a runza stand first. -
