Reality check. We suck. We knew that. Yes, this one hurts. But it's a great effort against a very good team. This isn't a 30-point loss to Rutgers. Appreciate the way the team has responded. We'd have a very different reaction if this was yet another 30-point loss.

That's what makes it frustrating. Just said it in another comment, but even with the football team "who cares how close you were...you still lost". If it was "win 2/3 of those close ones, lose the 1/3 ones" that's one thing. It's another to lose every single close one.

I debated changing me 16-point deficit HHCC prediction to something larger. For that, I say they've exceeded my expectations. But, as I've criticized the football team for, "it doesn't matter how close the game is, you still lost. Many times."

Game.

Devil's advocate...we could've folded early/midway into the 1st. I don't believe in moral victories. But I could've seen this team giving up much sooner than 38 minutes into a game.

This changes things a bit with 4 fouls on Cockburn. Take advantage and we might actually have a shot here.

Flipping through channels and I'm seeing Auburn with a #4 rank and Alabama with a #24 rank. It amazes me how much the college basketball landscape has changed. It really wasn't that long ago when an SEC team that doesn't start with a "K" was a joke in basketball. And now they've invested in their coaching staff and facilities and have built some solid programs. It's just frustrating we haven't been able to do that same...in a longer timespan of investment.

That's the healthiest attitude. But hey, who knows? Roll the dice and let's see where this goes.

I'll say it again in this thread, but with explanation. No offense, but this crowd is pathetic. Haven't seen something like this for a conference game in who knows how long. But no shade. Do what's best for you, the team hasn't given anybody a reason to show up. It's amazed me how loyal our fanbase is in showing up in all kinds of weather, but at some point you vote with your ticket.

Shooting 43% and 55% from 3. That's going to have to hold true on the 2nd half or we don't have a fighting chance.

How does this compare to a holiday/December type of game?
