Until now we’ve been better without Bryce on the floor. We will see what the last 10 minutes bring. We could sure use his scoring and for him to play more defense.

I’m hoping Indiana beats Michigan and then Illinois to solidify their place in the tourney. Then we can take down the Hoosiers! And yes, Bohannon is just a notch below Davison. It would make beating the Hawks even more fun!

There is nowhere else to place the blame. Everyone’s enduring Covid. Matt A. has put together this roster. Fred and Co. haven’t developed any of the players. Sure the players make bad decisions, don’t play with defensive effort, switch off, and don’t rebound. But this pile of crap that we just watched is all on the coaches. If Fred stays, that will say a lot about how much the administration cares about NU BBall or how much money they have for a restart.

If I see another contested step back 3 down by 21 points, not sure I can watch anymore.

We are getting pushed around just like in the 1st game, not making the effort to rebound, and as Kobe said last week, there is a lack of accountability from coaches. How these things are not corrected by now must be accountability. Well, that and the lack of confidence with open 3s. Lat, KT, and CJ all passed up open 3s last night that ended with contested and missed 2s. They have to shoot when they're open. That's why they are there. But...if DW stays next year and Lat is shown the door, I actually really like the roster, with or without the McGowens Bros, because of our post depth: DW, Wilhelm, Blaise, and Andre. I don't think we will get pushed around inside if we have those 4. But we need huge steps from the shooters...CJ, KT, and Bryce if he stays. If NU has a decent year next year and Bryce learns how to defend, become a better passer and rebounder (I know those are a lot of "ifs"), he will go from the end of the 1st round to a top 10 pick. He could make the transition like Davis has for Wisconsin and be even better than him (because I think Bryce is a better shooter). And I have no problem with someone like Quaran, a physical, tough defender and leader at the point. He would actually be a welcome change after Cam, Teddy, and Verge.

Can’t believe the AR didn’t flag offsides for CR’s goal. He completely affected how the keeper played the ball, and he was clearly in an offside position. Love the fight and depth and experience we are building although sometimes I wonder if Berhalter knows what he’s doing when picking a lineup. Will be great to have Pulisic, Reyna, etc. back in November.
