Selection Committee Games of Interest

Do you honestly think Bruce Rasmussen would put Penn State in over us when we have them beat in almost every category that counts. Bruce was in the stands the day we beat their ass -

Someone should say to Lunardi if you're wrong about Nebraska, because you're so confident about them not being in. I want you to resign if they make it to the tournament. If they don't make it you can keep your gig and get to use the title "greatest bracketologist of all time"... Deal? I got $50 says he turns down that bet. -

I agree... You see we were a 4 seed in the last nycbuckets.com NIT bracket behind Penn State, Utah, Washington ect... I swear the media is trolling us. If we were a 4 see in the NIT, Miles should not even accept the spot and tell them to shove that 4 seed up Bruce Rasmussen's ass -

Back to non biased talk... Nebraska moving to 56 in the RPI is big Syracuse = Out Oklahoma = Out (I don't care about their resume no way does the Big 12 get 9 teams in. I just don't give a **i* about the arguements for them. They were as bad as Rutgers over the final 10 game 2-8... They are OUT!) Arizona St. = Out Florida St. = Close... They are currently at 54 in the RPI and we are 56th. We will be ahead of them tomorrow in SOR. Marquette = Has more to prove, that win over DePaul did nothing for them. Texas = See DePaul -

Arizona State is out... Move us up one in Lunardi's asinine Bracket Penn State has no chance to be ahead of us like Lunardi Says... Move us up one more Two of the 9 Big 12 Teams are not getting in... move us up two more spots. That puts us on the 3rd Team on the "First Four Out" Right now in my opinion We need 3 more losses IMO We are big Depaul, North Carolina and Virginia Tech and fans tonight -

And... I personally don't GAF. They went 8-10 in the Number 6 conference according to Kenpom. They are out! By your logic St. John's should be in because they beat Duke and Villanova. If St. John's wins 2 in the Conference tournament they will end up .500 are they in? According to Lunardi they would be I'm sure -
I think I would throw Ed Morrow in there as well. Other than those two, I was not upset with any other transfers

Nebraska on the Selection Committee Board

Here is the source http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/mens-basketball-selections-101-selections Selection Criteria The Rating Percentage Index (RPI) is one of many factors used by NCAA sports committees when evaluating team selection, seeding and bracketing. The basic RPI consists of a team’s Division I winning percentage (25 percent weight), its opponents’ winning percentage (50 percent weight) and its opponents opponents’ winning percentage (25 percent weight). The RPI is one of many factors the committees use for selecting and seeding teams. Other criteria the committee considers in the selections process are: An extensive season-long evaluation of teams through watching games, conference monitoring calls and regional advisory committee rankings; Complete box scores and results; Head-to-head results and results versus common opponents; Imbalanced conference schedules and results; Overall and non-conference strength of schedule; The quality of wins and losses; Road record; Player and coach availability; and Various computer metrics. Each of the 10 committee members uses these various resources to form his or her own opinion, resulting in the committee’s consensus position on selection and seeding. Team Sheets The committee often refers to "team sheets" when comparing team performance. The team sheets contain in-depth team information about strength of schedule, performance against top-50 teams and home/road records. Starting with the 2017-18 season, the team sheets took on a new look. They now not only include each team’s RPI, but also include a team’s ranking in five other metrics: the ESPN strength of record and BPI rankings, as well as the KPI, KenPom and Sagarin rankings. In addition, a team’s schedule and results are now broken down in four quadrants that place greater emphasis on games played on neutral courts and in true road environments. The quadrant breakdown is as follows: Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75 Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135 Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240 Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus. Download team sheets Seeding The committee creates a seed list 1 through 68 -- which is used to assess competitive balance of the top teams across the four regions of this national championship. Additionally, the seed list reflects the sequential order with which teams will be placed in the bracket. Automatic Qualifiers: A total of 32 conferences will place an automatic qualifier in the NCAA tournament field. These qualifiers are determined by conference tournaments. At-Large: With the tournament field of 68, there are 36 at-large spots after the AQs. The committee selects the 36 best teams to fill the at-large berths. There is no limit on the number of at-large teams the committee may select from one conference. Yes, I posted this to make on HuskersOnline as well to prove a point to NewAD... One thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is no where does it say quadrants are based solely on RPI. -

Lol... Watching the Gonzaga/BYU game and Lunardi says St. Mary's is because of common sense. Right? F***ing idiot -

Same with Teamrankings... For the record I am not guaranteeing we are in by any stretch, but our chances are much better than slim to none. I'd put us at 50%+ -

Go to the te If you look at the link below you will see why teamrankings.com has us in, and it is quite clear why they do. It's because just like multiple other "Non-RPI" metrics use some common sense. Look at the records... they are separated by 1-25, 26-50 and 51-100 Would you look at that we are 9-3 vs 51-100... That sure looks a hell of a lot better than 4-9 against RPI Top 100 doesn't it? https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/ranking/predictive-by-other/ -

I have been saying this for the last 2 weeks. Since 2012 only 6 teams below 40 in the SOR have been left out and one of them was UConn who was ineligible in 2013. @MilesDavis on page 60 of the "Selection Committee Games of Interest" thread I break down each year from 2012 till today of who was in and who was out for SOR between 30-39 -

@hskr4life I don't think Texas is going to gain anything by beating Iowa State in the 1st round. I think they will need 2 wins -

Number on thing I see is that Lunardi has Penn State ahead of us. No way would Bruce Rasmussen say yeah Penn State deserves in over Nebraska. He just witnessed us beating the piss out of them a week and a half ago. We also are 4 games ahead of them in the conference. Not 1 or 2 games, but 4. There is no way looking past those things when selecting a team. Right now I am not seeing multiple teams Lunardi has listed ahead of us getting in, and I'll just leave it at that. IMO we have about a 50/50 shot. We need 6 of the following teams to lose early in their conference tournament and we are in Alabama Oklahoma State Louisville Syracuse Texas UCLA Arizona State Utah Notre Dame Marquette Providence Baylor Kansas State Mississippi State ^^^ I think the odds are about 50/50 that 6 of those teams struggle. -
Up to 80.8% chance

Providence is definitely not "In" right now. Their BPI is at 72, and SOR is borderline at 46. They lose to Creighton they are out Washington is out... Do yourself a favor and look past the RPI please. Their BPI is 113 and their SOR is 73. Washington is OUT
