  1. It would seem it's not a get right game for us in terms of turnovers
  2. As rock and roll never forgets, you can always come back baby. Let's win one for the Cip-per!
  3. Iowa has been consistently landing Mr Iowa for a while now
  4. No presser today = find out tonight if Teddy is playing
  5. Wisconsin Info Head Coach: Greg Gard Location: Madison, WI Conference: B1G Nickname: Badgers Mascot: Bucky Badger Line: Wisconsin by 11 Typical Rotation Depth: 9 KenPom rank: 11 Key Injuries: None Scheduling: Due to Nebraska being out with Covid the Huskers are playing 5 games in 9 days. This is game 3 of that stretch and due to NCAA rest rules Nebraska couldn't practice on Tuesday. Players to watch: Nate Reuvers The Senior is another in the line of mobile Wisconsin centers who can make 3s though has struggled in conference play. Additionally he's an excellent shot blocker. This Wisconsin team shares the ball well but Potter and Reuvers tend to take to take the most shots. Players to watch: Micah Potter Potter is complimentary to Reuvers as he's more girth and rebounding to Reuvers' rim protecting. Like everyone from Wisconsin he shoots 3s and also does damage drawing contact inside. Roster KenPom Most used lineup last 5 games PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 0 D'Mitrik Trice 6-0 184 Sr 34 Brad Davison 6-4 202 Sr 2 Aleem Ford 6-8 217 Sr 5 Tyler Wahl 6-9 220 So 11 Micah Potter 6-10 248 Sr 19.9 2 0 D'Mitrik Trice 6-0 184 Sr 34 Brad Davison 6-4 202 Sr 1 Jonathan Davis 6-5 196 Fr 2 Aleem Ford 6-8 217 Sr 35 Nate Reuvers 6-11 235 Sr 12.7 Tyler Wahl has replaced Reuvers in the starting lineup and Wisconsin likes to play with just one of their big men on the court at a time. Brad Davison is like that old joke where someone lists off this great list of accomplishments and then the punchline is bemoaning the fact that they're noted for something terrible. Davison is excellent on defense, can bail Wisconsin out when the shot clock is running down and by all accounts is a great teammates. We just know him as the guy who flops and hits people in the junk. Tyler Wahl doesn't shoot a ton but they go in Trice is your typical Wisconsin don't turn the ball over/make shot clock beating 3s PG and excels in the pick and roll. Ford functions as a David Rivers type of glue guy, splitting time between the 3 and 4 as necessary. Senior guard Trevor Anderson spells Trice at PG True Freshman wing Johnathan Davis has been impressive and has grabbed plenty of minutes coming off the bench at the 2 and 3 The Skinny: Last time out Nebraska rock fought its way to a 7-3 lead in Wisconsin after the first 10 minutes. The Badgers took control with a pair of runs in the middle, coasting to a 67-53 win. The Badgers did a good job keying on Teddy Allen with Allen fouling out after 25 minutes on the court. Wisconsin is built on getting back and defending, guarding the 3pt line and funneling you towards their shot blocking. This is a get right game in terms of ball handling for Nebraska as Wisconsin doesn't apply a lot of ball pressure. Between this and Wisconsin shooting poorly on the road, you could see a path by which a Nebraska team could win if they find their stroke back. The likely scenario though is that Wisconsin locks down the Huskers who struggle to hit 50. Prediction: Wisconsin 72 - Nebraska 56

  7. We have a rotation we like to keep at 7-9 which means we have 4-6 guys who aren't playing. We can and will recruit over Yvan and it's up to those guys to be better than him and relegate him to the bench. Same deal with Thor. I tend to ride or die with those guys because they conduct themselves like pros; they're going to continue to show up whether or not they're playing and other guys need to earn their minutes. In theory, having these types of guys should push your 'more talented players.' From the looks of Andre's play last game, he gets this and is applying this. We need him to be the kind of player who starts or is 1b as the starting center next year because he's better than Yvan, not because Yvan transferred and someone has to play center.
  8. It's Wood. No s on the end. If we get to the point with him or anyone at the end of the season where we tell them they should think about moving because they won't get to play here they have the right to stay here if they want. Our scholarships are guaranteed. While it's probably cool to hang with a friend at school most guys aren't here to sit for 4 years.
  9. It's almost like one thing doesn't determine the outcome of the other
  10. This doesn't make sense to me Pre 2000: This is a football school which is why we are bad at basketball Post 2000: We are bad at football so that drags down our basketball with it
  11. One way to look at it is that it's Miles fault if he has to keep guys or it's Miles fault that he had to get rid of guys or Miles fault that he had to fly out to re-recruit Jervay Green. Seems like Hoiberg was given the freedom to remake our roster in any way he saw fit which he did. I get why he flipped it. I get why it got flipped again. I'll get if we flip it again this season. In the future we might win 20+ games and still it will be flipped. Hoiberg has been churning through rosters his entire time as a college coach and in the past has been successful in doing so. That's why it's so meaningless to bring up the guys that Miles recruited that transferred out; Hoiberg's SOP is roster churn. Hey man, it takes a while to build relationships and this is a buzzsaw of a league. Hoiberg didn't catch lightning in a bottle and needs more time. He will have close to infinite time with Moos as AD. If it's not all on him already, it certainly is to start year 3.
  12. It's funny that there is some perception that the problem with Tim Miles was that he wouldn't be able to recruit guys or that he's even brought up in this thread in the first place
  13. We ended up somewhere between being in this game and losing by 30+ if Carr and Robbins aren't in foul trouble the entire game. Encouraging play and energy from Andre there. Him moving around on offense for the purpose of trying to get other people looks was unexpected. Is Stevenson this decade's Toney McCray? We've had 3 games the entire season where we made less than 7 threes: The Ohio St game and the two games back from the break. Doesn't look like a lot of guys shooting with confidence out there from outside.
  14. Lakes starting was either a 'we're going to start a guy who is doing the right things off the court because we're missing a guy who isn't' or a 'let's see if what happens' sort of deal. Feels like Lakes is trying to be a role player which to him involves not shooting unless wide open and never does the one thing he was brought here to do.
  15. Andre with a couple of nice passes to setup Stevenson
  16. Yeah dude, the guys who mentally show up each game are the problem
  17. Missing Teddy Allen's ability to take a 3 without looking scared to do so
  18. He's got to be more aggressive. If he's not open take 3 steps back and fire
  19. Two minutes after i typed that he came in, ran in circles for 30 seconds, and then left
  20. Shamiel reminds me of my 3 year old, constantly threading the needle between confounding and delighting me
