I think after MSU didn't back off at the end to let the clock run out, Connie pretty much told the girls to go to the bucket. If they weren't going to stop playing, neither were we.

Hooper played so much more under control and didn't press. She let the game come to her and it helped her performance dramatically.

Brother-in-law has coached against her and says she has vastly improved her strength, and will be a nice player for Illinois. Her competition is not too great at the high school level. Didn't sound like she really wanted to go to Nebraska and wanted to head out of state. Good luck to her.

As I said in an earlier thread, the last two years have been busts, minus Theriot and Havers. I think Allie will be in an asset, she just needs more time. Murren can be a zone buster and works her tail off, but has size limitations in the conference. There is a reason we are taking so many players next year.

I'm guessing 3-3. Not a good matchup this weekend against Northwestern. They gave us all we could handle in Lincoln.

Two years of recruiting poorly have caught up with Connie unfortunately. Except for Theriot, no one else has contributed. A bench of 9-10 doesn't give you a lot of options in this conference when t-3 are non-contributors. We are extremely shorthanded for the conference schedule ahead. Also notice how long all of our opponents are inside? We need more folks built like Emily Cady and we can't seem to get them to Lincoln.

Unfortunately, you are right. Just a very short bench which will hurt a bunch as we get deeper in to the conference schedule.

I'm afraid this is going to be seen a lot this year. We don't have much of an inside presence and absolutely zero depth. A middle of the pack finish in the BIG will be good this year, unfortunately.

I would agree. This team needs to improve its depth dramatically. I'm thinking we will be schooled by North Carolina big time and Creighton will be a challenge. Definitely not a top ten team at this point.

Team looked good today. UCLA only had 6 girls suited up. Anybody know why? That definitely didn't help them.

Yeah, I'm not sure why the Ramicieri girl didn't play more. If she's not good enough to play in these games, probably a miss. I think maybe she played around 3-4 minutes in a blowout.

Anybody know how you get into the parking lot north of Pinnacle? Do you enter through Haymarket Park? Is the bridge finished? TIA

You always hope you can keep big girls home if they are Division I caliber, but I assume the coaches had their reasons for not being super aggressive here.

Anyone concerned about the fact we lose so many quality in state players? I realize their is some duplication in positions, but we should not lose high quality players. Is their a conflict with the program philosophy and some of the club coaches in this state?

Would have been nice to have them all together with Theriot running the show..
