Yeah, maybe he hits the weight room had this offseason and is able to play some 4 next year? He definitely can shoot just isn’t quick enough to play defense on the wing IMO

Ya that’s kinda what I was getting at. 6’9” 205 likely won’t play in the nba. 6’9” 225 has a much better shot at atleast being a bench wing in the NBA I think. It wouldn’t even have to be 20 pounds of muscle necessarily

Yeah im Sure the coaching staff is aware he would be more of a mismatch at the 4 too. his 247 profile shows he’s gained about 30 pounds since his high school senior year but he was listed at 195 in 2019 at WKU. Guessing he either can’t or doesn’t want to put more weight on if he’s gained only ten pounds in 2 years. Had a heck of an efficient game today though

Seems like for the first time since Aleks maric that the center position may be a true strength of ours next season and that’s not even factoring in any contributions from Wilhelm. It seems like it would be very beneficial to both Banton and us for him to add around 20 pounds this offseason so he could play the 4 more often. Already one of our better rebounders and his length really shows on defense, matching up against other 4s on offense seems like it’s a win/win scenario for both party’s

The growth Andre has shown on just the fundamentals and the little things over the last few games Is sooooooo promising from What we have had in the past from bigs.

If anyone’s drinking for every offensive rebound Minnesota gets I hope your still alive after the possession after the 4 minute time out.

I think our chances of a great team next year are very slim, teddy however could be part(a big part in fact) of us possibly being a bubble team next season I hope. Your looking at a starting five of trey,Bryce,teddy, Stevenson, and walker next year hopefully then Andre, banton, wilhelm, Keisei, mayen, maybe lakes as options off the bench. Maybe we add a high level transfer PG to That mix or maybe Bryce is that special kinda player that this offense needs as a distributor

Atleast we are starting to see some improvement on a game by game basis from allen, mcgowens, Stevenson, Walker, and Andre. It’s only spurts and there’s still WTF moments but you can atleast see something with those 5 in my opinion. I don’t think it happens but I’d love to see Stevenson start over Lat. Stevenson gives us more on both ends of the court and w no one consistently setting Lat up he’s basically a zero for us right now on both ends. If we coulda got Lat back in 2017 outta high school I think he really could been a weapon in miles system w Watson setting him up but on this team he’s just an odd piece. Cockburn probably isn’t gonna be an in demand NBA player so we likely get to face him For atleast 2 more years, isn’t that fun.

Bardo is a dog shit announcer. In sure he played a lot of post defense in his time as PG at Illinois but I’d love to hear how he would suggest defending cockburn when your giving up 70 pounds and he’s allowed to lead w his elbow every time he catches it in the post. Is there a worst call in all of sports than the double tech? It’s just a weak bail out call refs use when they don’t see what happened.

I remember thinking harrar would turn into a pretty good big man a few years ago when I watched penn st and sure enough he has. Wonder if we could see similar growth for Ivan if he stays. similar sentiment on Blanton vs Webster minutes but I just watch the game from my couch

I get that he was probably out there for floor spacing but I woulda rather had Blantons length out there on defense than Webster in the second half. For all the talent we have we sure are having a hell of a time putting it together

Probably an unpopular take but we should be ramping up the minutes on woods and Andre. If we are gonna suck we might as well suck with guys that are gonna be here next year. I think Ivan had a nice game today but he still left probably 8 points around the hoop out there that an average big man converts.
