Nebraska (12-2) vs. Wisconsin (10-3) Game Thread

This times 100%. And for some reason, the refs don’t call it and our coaching staff somehow accepts it. If I were Fred I’d turn into a whiny little Mac and get I. The officials grill until they watched for it every possession. -

Rice is intriguing on offense. His defense is brutal -

KT now 7-9 and 3-5 17 points, not sure but I do t think any were free throws. I know he’s playing out of position but JL can be a little out of control at times -

Wilcher goes out, Keisei comes in. Following possessions, miss by Mast, make by Williams, miss by Allick, miss by Williams…#30 touched the ball ZERO times on ever one of those possessions If a guy is 6-8 and 2-4 from the outside, you have to get him more touches. Just have to. -

It pains me t say this, but I really wish Chucky came to NU. That’s a true point guard. -
I’m all for sticking with a guy, but at some point there have to be some honest conversations that may be tough to have. Not sure when that is. He must’ve completely shattered his ankles

The quote I read was Coach was hopeful to get Blaise back at some point this season. What in the Sam heck did he do to his ankles??? 13 months??

Good to see the on court chemistry growing and developing. Having gone to every home game, it’s noticeably better and improved now than it was at the beginning of the season. And Allick is settling in very nicely as the first to the floor general -

I feel like we’ve let up defensively a bit. Giving them way too many threes, they are just skipping opposite and their wing is wide open -

On the last play, Allick stands with his back completely to the basket on the top of the key. I’d like to think he has peripheral vision, but his angle and footwork just aren’t set up for him to make a pass to Tominaga on that cut. Derrick Walker and Mast would’ve…. -

1) Tominaga is absolutely getting held and I wish Fred would be vocal about it. (Maybe he is, I don’t know) All I know is Izzo or Mac would whine and complain until it stopped or the refs looked for it 2) Wilcher off the bench hitting threes is a great role and he’s shooting well 3) Mast gives us such another presence 4) Allick hustles but has hands of granite and has to hit free throws 5) Brice didn’t play much at all down the stretch in the first half. Ball seems to be moving well tonight -

I’m starting to get a bad feeling about how long we will be sailing without a Mast
-
A lot to like. 1) - Guys made it thru while avoiding major injuries. 2) - 1st half defensive intensity was good, if not great. Gary and Allick set the tone 3) - Got some of our guys some good looks and they shot fairly well. Wilcher had a nice productive night, as an example. 4) - SCS pressed full court the entire game. Most of the time we handled it well. Final 8 or so minutes, mainly based on personnel, we definitely did not. Have to get Mast back and Tominaga going. Let the meat of the conference play begin!!!!

Would really like to see us work on some actions and sets offensively. But, that’s probably asking for too much. As predicted, our defensive intensity has let way off and we are allowing penetration. I don’t really care, just want all our guys to make it through this game healthy. And feel bad for Henry Burt, he would’ve played a lot
