Utah has a lot of height. Probably not a fair fight. But Doane is 11 days away. By then he should be OK.

Was thinking the same, basic thing. I wasn't a big fan of the gauchos Cookie Miller used to wear. But I'm not exactly a fan of the throwback 1950s Milan, Indiana gym shorts either. Seems like there should be a happy medium between mid-calf and butt cheeks hanging out.

Well, the form wasn't great. Not only was it slow, but it was also lacking in elevation. So that made it doubly easy to block and therefore required him to have twice as much room. Which wasn't an issue for opposing defenses because, shoot, he's got an 80% chance of missing, so leave him as much room as he wants. If he'd had more of a conventional and accurate shooting stroke, he'd have been such a great player for us, because he was so savvy in so many other ways.

KenPom 2023-2024 KenPom Rankings Thread

Right, but it sounded like you were saying it's even more enhanced this year. Maybe I misunderstood. -
Cale Jacobsen be like, well that shot's missing, better get back on D.

Red jerseys, from what I can tell (and I don't KNOW that jersey color means anything), include: Keisei CJ Brice Josiah MATAR!!! Grey jerseys included: Boogie Ahron Jamarques Eli Cale Juwan
-
All is well. Scrimmage today. Keisei photographed in red jersey.
-
If you're one of the people who pays attention to who's wearing the red jerseys, it looks like ... Rienk Josaih Brice Jamarques Boogie Perhaps more noteworthy than who's in red is the fact I don't see Keisei in any color jersey in either of these clips. Injury report?

KenPom 2023-2024 KenPom Rankings Thread
Norm Peterson replied to 49r's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
So, @49r or @cozrulz, is MOV scaled? Or is it an absolute number? In other words, Drake had a top 15 ranking in MOV in absolute numbers, beating their opponents by an average of 10 ppg. But their SOS was barely in the top 200. Contrast with Arizona that also had 10 ppg MOV average, but a top 50 SOS. If you're playing a better schedule, you shouldn't be expected to have as high of an average MOV. If you're playing a bunch of cupcakes, you should be beating them by more. So, is MOV scaled based on SOS or is it just a raw number? -

By the way, it's not often that Husker hoops fans and Kenpom agree on our prospects for the upcoming season. -
Can you imagine if Thor had had a jumper half as good as Keisei's? And by half, I don't mean in terms of percentage. I'm not talking math. I'm talking esthetics. I mean, if he could have mustered even low-30s from deep, he would have been one of our best players this century.
-
Granted, people mature at different rates. But he's only 16. He could EASILY have another 2 inches of growth left in him. Or more. But I would be really surprised if he's done growing. Vertically, just so we're clear.

If we do that, it would put us at 21-10 overall and 12–8 in conference before the big 10 tournament and I daresay that would be more than enough to get us in. -

Five wins among teams on that list is a tall order. -

Road win at Michigan to end the year would be a good start and get us to .500 in conference. A home win early against Lord Voldemort would pay late season dividends. Assuming we win all the games Ken projects and pick up those two projected Ls we’re probably still in need of a conference tournament win or two to feel safely in. -

Best Ken Pom ranking to start the season in the Hoiberg era. I’m going to guess without looking we haven’t started this high since Tim Miles year three. -

Opening Night 2023 - Friday, Sept 29th
Norm Peterson replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Speaking from the perspective of someone who used to enjoy going to watch Doc Sadler run basketball practices, I was OK with the format. I think they're trying to avoid the theatrics of an All-Star game kind of environment. It might have helped to have ongoing commentary piped into the arena of Kent talking to Fred or one of the assistants about the finer details of each drill and what they've been seeing from the players during regular practices and so forth. But drills instead of a dunk-fest with no defense? Yeah, I'm actually OK with that. -
We now have guys who can shoot our way back into games, keep us in games, or blow games open.
