'Team Building.' No doubt they have so much fun playing together, this is just another outlet for their enthusiasm. Sort of reminds me of the Volleyball team. Coach Amy Williams has, almost unnoticed by anyone, built her team around Sam Haiby and the Australian Girls, filling in with transfers; first with Ashley Scoggins, then Bella Cravens, and latest Jaz Shelley, who are stand-outs (not to mention Mi'Cole Cayton, Trinity Brady & Nailah Dillard, all impacted by prior injuries), and a stellar class of Freshmen, (not to leave out last year's freshman class including Anni Stewart). You mean even the Officals aren't in the arena??? (I think I've seen some games where they Must have Not been there!) -

Finger-roll in by Tominaga!!!! Never though I'd ever say that! Then a Buzzer-beater trey by Lakes to end the Half! Huskers lead by 11 at the Half! Halftime Stats: -
First 5 mins w/ Jaz Shelley, Isssie Bourne & Anni Stewart Three very well-grounded ladies ( as it the entire team). All complimentary and supportive of Anni's big day (21 pts), who credits her teammates for getting her open. They talk about the depth of the team, so many weapons, and believe they can win. They all, entire team, so obviously enjoy playing with each other. Like the 12-0 start, but not complacent. Know the tough conference grind is just starting and they'll have to hit the ground running when they return from break to work on some things (rebounding, etc.) to get ready for the Big Ten. Jaz's brother, a Fr at West Texas A&M, is in town and they'll stay in Lincoln over Christmas. Coach Amy Williams starts at about the 8:30 mark. Very appreciative of the turnout @ PBA. Not the most complete game today; Some breakdowns defensively and in communication, but disciplined and focused and came away with the win. Anni, great day, and also quite improved on the defensive end. Lot of confidence and ball movement. Still a lot of room for team improvement. Good discussion of today's game. A good post-game conference - Well worth a listen!!

Officiating doesn't seem to be very good, or consistent! (Referees: Julie Krommenhoek, Tiara Cruse, Cameron Inouye)

Everytime I watch the Ladies play, I do a double-take! I swear that Nicea is back on the court for Us! Kendall Coley has almost the same moves and Energy!

Ball Movement is Amazing. As soon as a rebound or made basket under Wyo's basket, the Husker ladies are on a Fast Break to our basket. They easily get to the inside, quick pass to the perimeter, then back inside under the basket, with seeming ease; Rinse & Repeat, R&R, R&R!!!! The Men should be so good!!!

Don't Forget To: Show-up FESTIVE!!!

I guess I was thinking back to her interviews with Matt Coatney. Coatney was always giving her 'soft ball' questions that she could only agree with and confirm what Matt was saying. Seems like he avoided any tough questions or controversy.

Great Report; Thanks Whoop!!! We've all thought that this is Coach Amy's deepest and most talented team. It is really gratifying to see that 'coaching' matches the talent, manifested by the camaraderie, TEAM Spirit, and, as you said: "have that ability to respond back." No doubt, competition will get tougher for Alexis Markowski as we enter conference play; but I'm so glad that we have someone who can compete down low; I don't doubt that she will respond, with her 'Will to Win' (in fact that goes for the entire team - length, athleticism, shot-blocking and steals). The contributions made by All the players are just too numerous to mention. think we should have a solid finish in the top half of the conference (and is it just me or do Amy Williams interviews seem to be getting better and more informative).
