I think a large part of the reason is that we missed a number of easy shots under and around the basket throughout most of the game that we would normally make, and would have put the game largely out of reach. Maybe it's the 4 games in 8 days that were taking their toll, but we can't expect to win unless we make those 'gimme's.
I don't remember exactly where I heard it (maybe Coach's press conference) but I thought it was indicative of the coaching they're getting when she said that Coach Love (I think) was coaching Allison Weidner (naturally aggressive anyway) to go to the rim, coaching her that they can't stop her!
I think that's when they were talking about her going to the rim for a basket near the end of the game, instead of stopping short and taking a trey, which if missed could have resulted in a score at the other end and a tight(er) game. Then Weidner had that steal and run to the rim for another basket at the end!
