  1. Nissley's got to take that ball across the line. It did seem a short 10 seconds. Home clock.
  2. Jeebus. Easy layup for the win and she blows it.
  3. 2 fouls on Iowa. Yeah, right.
  4. That's gonna be called every time. Bad offensive execution dribbling around outside the whole possession.
  5. I fear she's going to get worn down, though, if she has to play 35 minutes a game. Hope she has enough gas in the tank.
  6. I think one is Shimmy Gray-Miller? Ex-NU assistant.
  7. They've both had fairly disappointing careers. A few flashes here and there, but mostly just meh.
  8. Coley is just...not good. Absolutely no on-court instincts.
  9. Exactly. Her last shot, which she just threw as you describe, she had the defender up in the air, but instead of drawing an easy foul by moving toward the hoop with a shot, she does her now patented fadeaway shotput brick.
  10. Then they don't call the triple moving screen against O'Grady. Effing zebras.
  11. Turn and seal making herself available for a pass. Textbook fundamental basketball.
  12. That 3rd foul call on Markowski was the worst call I've ever seen. Ridiculous.
  13. I have to give the ladies credit. They looked like they might get beat 83-0, but got their ducks in a row and played really well until the last half of the 4th quarter to beat a pretty good team that came to Lincoln with a great plan to pressure NU. Great to see Markowski get some mojo back. Weidner looked more like pre-knee injuries Weidner - really aggressive. Had a few too many turnovers, but both traveling calls on her were total BS. Officiating, per usual, was horrendous...across the board. But I will say, this is one of the first games I can remember when I felt NU got the benefit of several questionable calls to even things out a bit compared to the normal crapfest we witness.
  14. I can concur. I have many times found someone live streaming games on YouTube. Sometimes, the stream might 'blocked' after a certain period of time, but I've generally been able to switch to a different streamer and get to watch most of a given game.
  15. I had the good fortune of tuning in just prior to NU's stellar effort to wrench defeat from the jaws of victory by completely blowing the 17? point lead in 6 or 7 minutes. I have no words for the level of play displayed during that segment. From the comments, it sounds like the 1st half wasn't a whole lot better. It's really hard to watch this team sometimes - still always with the lazy passes, ill-advised/wild shots and missed bunnies. Thankfully, as someone else mentioned, Hake, Weidner & Prince buckled down just in time to avoid an embarrassing collapse. It's going to be a tough row to hoe the rest of the way unless the level of play improves significantly.
  16. I wouldn't bet the farm on it. This is the B1G we're talking about. The front office has been subtly shafting NU since the moment they joined.
  17. Exactly, I think NU has a better chance this year of beating the ditch chickens in Iowa City, but winning on the road in conference is so difficult. Especially with Iowa probably being royally pissed off after getting 3 of their 4 remaining teeth forcibly removed by the ditch weasels the other day.
  18. Wow, if I counted correctly there are only 4 ACC teams in that top 40 and only 1 in top 20. My oh my how the strength of the ACC has eroded in the last 5 to 10 years. One benefit is that, living in North Carolina fairly close to the former hotbed of college hoops royalty, I don't have to listen to all the Tar Hole and Blue Devil homers blather on about how great they are all the time.
  19. It has always seemed to me that NU gets 2 or 3 of the 'expected to finish' top 4 or 5 conference foes on the very front end of the schedule...you know, just so they can get in a nice hole that's nearly impossible to dig out of if NU might have any thoughts of being a decent team and finish in the top half of the conference. The past couple of years I think that has aided NU's late season success with some of the 'lesser' teams scheduled late. This year, I don't think it makes much difference. It appears right now that there is more parity throughout the conference and there really aren't going to be many games that can be expected wins without playing really good ball. Of course, it's fantastic to be 2-1 instead of 1-2 or 0-3 against 3 good teams.
  20. I'm just gobsmacked that a game officiated by that stretched dick-with-ears, D.J. Carstenson, didn't end up with the foul tally strongly in favor of NU's opponent. Miracles do happen.
  21. Suck it, UCLA. Suck it, Cronin.
