    The Skinny

After thumping the Huskers at home Penn St was a DJ Newbill last second shot away from also losing the rest of their conference games since our last meeting. It's fairly improbable for the Huskers to win the tournament but winning a game a lackluster Penn St would make everyone feel just a tiny bit better. Full court pressure seemed to shake the Nittany Lions but realistically it was because they were already grinding the clock. Pressing this team early or with a lead seems like a recipe for easy points, though Miles probably knows this.

The Huskers shot 10% from three vs Penn St and would have lost by 1 had that number been a pedestrian 30% though we might be talking the NIT right now if the Huskers could hit a pedestrian number of 3s. If Nebraska can play with the same aggressiveness on offense they had vs Maryland, they will win this game. If not, welcome to your off season.

    Prediction: Nebraska 60 - Penn St 57

    Players to Watch:

Fifth-year Senior D.J. Newbill (#2) is the leading scorer in the B1G @ 20.7 ppg;  with 3.2 assists and 4.9 Rebounds.  He can score from anywhere; Huskers’ best bet is to try to keep him shooting 3s from the perimeter, not his strongest point.

Junior Brandon Taylor (#10) averages 9.3 points per game and has made 37  3-pointers.

Freshman Shep Garner (#33) averages 9.1 ppg.

All three players have made 50 3-Ptrs each.
