  1. Hold my whistle and watch this.
  2. That it wasn't a double ejection after the review shows exactly how this game has been ruined by officials.
  3. It's like when I lived in MN and all the T-Wolves castoffs, Longley, Spencer, Marshall, etc. would then win in the playoffs.
  4. I have no idea what is or isn't a foul anymore.
  5. I have to wonder if they can't go 100% in practice to avoid injuring other players. That kind of hustle in practice IS risky, but had they gotten meaningful minutes in games, this revelation might have come sooner.
  6. I think, after what we have seen from Borchardt and Trueblood, it was a mistake not playing both more for the last four years. I know others might be more athletic or have more talent, but these two are always making a positive contribution rather than looking to score. They make the team better.
  7. Looks like Roby has figured something out.
  8. I gotta say, that store is awesome...worth the trip right Phil? I'm not even kidding. I worked at the old 70th and O in HS and was blown away by how HyVee has changed .
  9. It's getting to the point where 7 YEARS doesn't make a difference. #purgatory
  10. To be clear...it is not having 10,000 posts or being a founding member that makes information credible...the point was that those who have been around for that long have seen what you are saying and how you are saying it before, and RARELY has it been accurate, so there will be skepticism. I don't recall any of our inside info guys having Sadler or Miles in the previous go-rounds, but maybe this time is different, we shall see.
  11. A long time ago, I used to watch every game and soak up every word the talking heads said, every point, all the analysis, all their expert opinions, all their insider insights, all their unnamed sources. Then the play, the game, the season, the career would happen and even if that talking head knew all the right people, all the right tactical and strategic details, even if they were the best informed SOB (scholar of basketball) they had (charitably) a 25% chance of being right. So I now understand that "knowing" and "actually happening" are not the same thing. If you see someone on this board with 10,000 posts (or HHC in their screen name) understand that we have listened to 20,000 posts from guys who "know a guy" or "saw the next coach at Valentino's" or "have the inside dirt" Charitably, <5% of those have been right, so it's not personal. If you KNOW and want to share, great, when your prediction comes to pass, you will be vindicated but if you want to stifle disagreement by citing your unnamed sources then the bulletin board world isn't your best platform and you should start a blog.
  12. I don't like the idea of snubbing the NIT. The NIT is like the Holiday Bowl or the Sun Bowl or somesuch, sure it's not the National Championship game, or a New Years bowl, but it's another game(s) The NIT often has better matchups than the NCAA tournament and every year there are a number of teams in the NIT that are better basketball teams than some of the auto-qualifiers. I want Nebraska to be competitive and making the NCAA tournament regularly, but if we don't get an NCAA bid, but can play in the NIT...play on! As long as this NIT run goes is how long we all have to appreciate Glynn Watson, James Palmer, Tanner Borchardt, and Johnny Trueblood.
  13. Couldn''t come up with another rabbit-based coaching allusion , although considering our horrible conversion rate on "bunnies" ...
  14. Altman's or Otzelberger's if you ask these two
  15. To be fair, he said there is a reason Altman is FROM Nebraska, that may have more to do with Altman than it does with Nebraska...Walton is generally very appreciative of every PLACE...that said, it's more likely his running hype hysteria about the Pac-12 his professed "CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS" (#onebidleague) Having Bill as a constant presence on UA broadcasts here in Tucson, I do have to say, when Dave Pasch finally snaps and kills Bill, no jury in the land will convict him.
  16. Then it was all worth it.
  17. As soon as I can get to Lincoln.
  18. I like Tim. I'd like to see him be successful. What is going to be different in year 8 than in years 1-7? If I'm the AD, LAST YEAR, I sit down and work out a plan, ask "What do you need?" agree to a real extension but reduce/eliminate the termination buyout. I let him bring in consultants and find veteran mentors. As the AD, I say positive things every week, especially during 11 and 2, but even during the slide. I embrace Miles and spare no expense to make sure there is every chance to succeed. If, at the end of the season, the record is unacceptable then I wish him well and move on, offering Tim the position of associate Athletic Director for Basketball.
  19. But...if there is a track and field practice two days after Nebraska's third round game of the B1G tournament will Pollard be at the game? Asking for 15k friends.
  20. On which part? The last time I followed baseball Puckett played for the Twins, so I'm not up on the challenges of the baseball program.
  21. Thanks for the data. It certainly points to the coaching deficiency, but that is one of the concerns about the commitment. Every program you noted has had coaches who were household names or coaches who were good enough to step up to bigger opportunities, who has left Nebraska for a better job? Ask anyone outside Nebraska to name two Nebraska basketball coaches. They can't. We don't get the coaches who will make a difference because the impression, right or wrong, is that this is a career killer. We got a perfect storm of recruits in the early 90s and it is our last big splash, but Danny vs Roy, Johnny, Dana, Billy, Lon, Larry, Eddie, or Norm...? How did those years even happen? We've never been close to a hire like those coaches.
  22. We go through this cycle every 5-7 years, blaming the coach for failing to achieve the success that is our Bob-given right as Husker fans...doesn't matter if it is FB or MBB and until the mid-90s, even Tom wasn't immune, but the only constants in all of this are the fans and the level of investment of the University. At Nebraska, FB gets investment and attention and despite some hires we can all argue about, Nebraska wins at a better than average rate and makes bowl games more than any other comparably sized states. As a comparison, when I moved to AZ in 1998 when Arizona (pop. 7 million+) and NU (pop. almost 2 million) matched up in the Holiday Bowl. Since then the U of A has 9 bowls in the last 20 seasons, Nebraska has 17 in 20 can you guess which fanbase is more upset? MBB gets the administration love at U of A and lo and behold...18 of 20 for NCAA tournament appearances to 2 for 20 for Nebraska. We can argue that Arizona is a basketball school, but that only happened because they committed to getting a top coach (Lute Olson) and sticking with him and then after a couple of missteps, hiring Sean Miller. Miller is now embroiled in rumors in the FBI investigation, but I've heard almost no calls for him to be fired for it (especially compared to the absolute fan meltdown when he "can't get past the Elite 8") Miller is receiving the full support of the UA administration despite the conviction of one of his assistants, the termination of two others, and his pending subpoena...a far cry from the indifference of the NU admins to the B1G run. (Nebraska basketball 11th in attendance in 2018, Arizona 16th) I think the national media has a point and a bias when they say Nebraska competing on the biggest stage is improbable, because it's a small state, smallest in the B1G, and it lacks the wealth of in-state talent, and it lacks obvious natural recruiting lures (beaches, sun, major cities) you only have to look at the thread on the flooding on our very own board to see why Nebraska isn't for everyone. BUT...the administration has failed the fans, the coaches, and the players by not giving 100% to the effort to make the MBB program a priority and make us at least as competitive as the Creightons/ISUs/KSUs of the world. Tim may not be THE guy...but if the support doesn't change, no one ever will be.
  23. Agree with all your points. Anyone telling you they thought Nebraska would win 3 of 4 this week is a liar, so I understand Moos buying a ticket, but the spring game is today. An individual with his resources could easily have rebooked to show his complete support for his coach and team. It looks good even if you want Tim gone, because the next guy sees how you stand by the program. I'm fine with trying to head off the questions about the coaching decision, but the lack of any congratulations in the release shows opposition to what the team is trying to accomplish. On that note, if Miles was in an ultimatum situation and was being directed through mandate or manipulation to coach/rotate against his own judgment then I can't blame THIS season on him. If the inferences made by some in the punditry, and Kent's cryptic tweet indicates that Miles was hindered from doing his job, then the failure is on the administration. Coach Miles has not achieved the success we all thought everyone was rooting for, but if anyone out there with an N on their lapel limited his chances overtly or covertly they should be out.
