  1. I don't think I've ever been there, but I assume they also have Big Red theme?  If I were a business owner in Lincoln or Omaha, I wouldn't try to play one side to the exclusion of another.  That's silly.

What about grocery stores?  Do you people make sure your produce department is Creighton-free?

It's a free country, though, I get it.  As for me, I just can't see getting hung up on purging everyone out of my life that caters to the fans of another team.

It sounds like it's exclusively Creighton, from what the OP stated

  2. People who dislike "bandwagon Nebrasketball fans" are nearly as pompous as Creighton fans.  Is the meltdown when we lose going to be annoying?  Yes.  But you can't ask for something to be successful and then get annoyed when people outside of your circle enjoy the success too.  That logic makes no sense.

It's like soccer fans in America that say they want soccer to become incredibly popular in this country, but then bash any new fans that pop up/would add to it's popularity.  Umm ok? What?

A guy on 1620 the zone got on and said that NU still has work to do because we don't have a lot of top 100 wins. Yet we are 6-7 in that category which is just as many wins as so many of these other teams.

The long and the short of it is, most people don't know what they are talking about.

This^^^^. Nebraska has come out of nowhere over the last month and there are a lot of 'experts' that still haven't studied up on the Nebraska NCAA tournament resume. You would think it would be simple enough to look but since they don't know, when asked the question they just spew standard answers like need some more wins, not enough big wins, too many losses, etc. They don't know. Gradually, this team is forcing more people to look. People will take notice. Just look at the bracketmatrix. Just last week we were in 1 bracket. Now somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 or so. The momentum is continuing to build and the experts will finally get it right.

I think there might be a lot of truth to this.  A lot of people probably see the 5 game winning streak + win @ Michigan State and assume that is all we have on our resume.  If they start digging a little deeper, they'll see that we look a lot better than quite a few teams they have ahead of us.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter right now.  We control our destiny.  Unless we finish 1-3, I'm guessing we have a chance.

  4. The only thing different about Ray from last year to this year is that he's getting less minutes/taking less shots.  His percentages are nearly identical and his stat line probably would be too if he was getting as many minutes as last year.

    Ray is who he is

Headlining the Bubble Watch with...North Carolina. Man this is an interesting time to be a Husker Hoops fan!

Not a very promising article.  Indicates 1 more loss will send us to the NIT.  Not sure I agree with it, but Eamon certainly knows more about it than I do.

I think he makes a valid point as he's also stating UNC is bubblicious.... time will tell (as will racking up W's incl. 2 more roadies). NU needs to earn a better spot in the pecking order w/ wins!

The common thought I've heard is- excluding Wisconsin, any game we lose from here out we'll need to make up with a win in the big ten tourney to cancel it out (1 loss = 1 tourney win, 2 losses = 2 tourney wins, etc).  Personally I think 4-1 gets us in regardless

  6. Even though we would have greatly exceeded expectations, I just think there's such a bias in favor of the coaches at the top that I would be surprised to see Miles honored even if we have a top-half conference finish.

I don't see the bias that you do, at all.  Miles has gotten so much love from the national media over the last couple weeks and is probably the leader in the clubhouse for COTY right now depending on how the rest of the season goes.  He's (at the least) in contention with Izzo and Beilein, who have also done incredible jobs this season.

  7. Too show you just how funky the RPI can be, the Wildcats are currently 12th in said RPI. They are 10-6 against the top-100 (not bad, right?), but only 2-4 against the top-50 and have ZERO RPI top-25 wins. Nebraska is 6-7 against the RPI top-100 and have played TEN games against the top-50 (3-7 overall). The Wildcats have been feasting on teams between 51-100 on the RPI list.

Sounds like they are essentially Iowa last year
