I feel like that 2018-2019 team had to have been up there -
Penn State is tough people are sleeping on them. That NIU transfer he's a center I can't pronounce his name, but he is really good.

Teams I'm scared of that will give us problems UCLA, Oregon, Maryland, Illinois, Michigan Teams we match up well with Indiana, MSU, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa Teams that could go either way Rutgers and Penn State (they look really tough so far) Teams we absolutely can't lose to USC, Washington, Minnesota

I never would've thought in the off-season Gavin would be one of the first guys being eeked out of the rotation. His physical tools are a match made in heaven for Fred and our system, but he looks lost out there. Maybe Wednesday's game will be a "figure shit out" game for Gavin and they play him 25+ minutes.

I've never said anything bad ever about Jeff Goodman (how do you look in Orange) -
The key to beating Kalk is to go right at his chest. He doesn't foul, so he's almost too conservative for his own good. Creighton has problems with Ashworth getting hurt, and they have major problems at the 3/4 position. Loved Juwan and if Conor plays like this all season we are a DANGEROUS team. Also give Nate Loenser whatever he wants keep that guy around forever.

Anyone catch any Illinois games yet this year? They are uber-talented but extremely young and are lost on defense. I really don't know what to think of them. They could win the league, but I could also see them missing the tournament because of their youth in the thick of big ten play. Jauckonis is an incredible talent at PG and Will Riley is breaking the reclassify myth in college basketball. Thoughts on them? Right now they are the team I'm most confused about

It's going to be even more painful this year with the football game the day after because there will be jayskers in my face shitting on Nebraska on Friday that will be in the trenches with me for the football game on Saturday. Screw all jayskers

I forgot to add I also hate this "we don't care about Nebraska, Nebraska only cares about us, we care more about the big east" approach Creighton fans have taken the past few years. Them pretending they don't care about an in-state rivalry, yeah ok whatever

Growing up in Omaha, I have always separated my hate for Creighton from the fan base to coach Mac and their product on the floor. I hate their fan base; I don't hate Coach Mac or their style of play I actually think they've had a lot of fun players to watch this past decade. That being said, growing up in Omaha, I've put up with Jayskers my entire life they suck. They always have their noses stuck so high up in the air for a program that has only made one elite eight you would think they've been to multiple final fours the way they act. At least Husker football fans have seen winning so can act that type of way (to a degree). Creighton has not. Describing jayskers to my out of state friends they all see the stupidity that being a jaysker is. It blows their minds when I tell them yeah so basically 70% of their fan base cheers for Nebraska in football, baseball, and volleyball then come December they all hate Nebraska. It's never made any sense to me they suck I really hate their fan base, but have a ton of respect for what Coach Mac has been able to build there.

If Berke provides that much energy all year he's going to be a fan favorite, thinking about him and Rienk together next year gets you excited. My question is when does the staff think about playing Nick Janowski? This team needs shooting badly, and he can provide that. Just not sure they want to see Ulis or Sam's minutes go down for an unproven freshman, but it wouldn't hurt to try him out if things continue the way they have been from deep.

St. Mary's (3-0) Vs. Nebraska (3-0) Game Thread

This loss stinks because I felt we saw a fight in this team we haven't seen before. They showed and played right there with a very high-quality team. Ulis and Meah's minutes have to get cut down some I think. Ulis is a good defender but Sam does everything he can do if not better. Need Gavin and Essegian to step up if we want to be where this team needs to be. -
The Good: We get the free throw line often and have many guys scoring in the paint. Last year, we struggled to get into the paint, and our offense stalled especially against athletic teams on the road. The defense looks like it'll be legit this year every guy on the floor can defend, even Berke, which I wasn't expecting. Speaking of Berke he gets better every single game. Next game and Creighton might be rough for him, but if his shot falls that'll open a lot up for him. The Bad: Three-point shooting still looks ugly, but they are getting great looks from deep. As confident as Fred seemed in the press conference about their ability to shoot I'm not too worried. They did shoot 8-21 from 3 against Utah per Robin so maybe the past three games have been below-average nights for them. What I think is even more concerning is the lack of finishing around the rim. It feels like every game this year they have left at least 15 points worth of bunnies out on the floor. That is a bigger problem than the three-point shooting because you have to finish at the rim at a higher clip since we aren't as high-powered on offense as last year. Andrew Morgan, I still don't understand why he's playing less than 20 minutes a game with what he can do with the ball in his hands. Is he still hurt, or what is the deal there?
