That's just a BYU message board trying to make themselves feel good. Something we never do around here. Fred just needs to convince Berke he can provide a more direct route to the NBA than what BYU can provide.

Maybe it will evolve much as how professional golf has evolved, with an NCAA Tournament and a LIV Tournament. With foreign money footing the bill for the LIV Tournament.

If we had made a commitment to participate in a certain event, I would like to see us have the integrity to honor that commitment.

Sounds like Creighton. Smells like 'em, too.

Igor Milicic - Transfer ->Tennessee
LincecumFan replied to hhcmatt's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I think we all had the notion ole Ricky was going to push the Knecht connection (I've been waiting 6 weeks to use that phrase!). -
That's been my thought, too. That someday there will be no National Letter of Intent. High school seniors will negotiate a contract directly with the school for the amount of compensation and time they want to stay at that school. Pay for performance, baby!

And JT Toppin is still bouncing around out there. Have no idea whether we had any contact with him.

And convincing these recruits they can get enough playing time to be satisfied. My apologies if that is what you meant by "fit".

ESPN 2025 NCAA Tournament Predictions
LincecumFan replied to LincecumFan's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I hope not. I don't know what else to say. -

No, just one person showing off his ignorance.

Yeah, being so new to HHC I guess I just learned something. To say I am completely embarrassed is the understatement of the day.
-
Now I'm really confused, what in heck happened there. How did I get that notification?
-
It would be cool to meet you. Do you have an idea what your schedule will be?

I just want to hear Kent Pavelka pronounce "Buyuktuncel"!

If anyone out there still feels we should go after Coleman Hawkins, take a look at this.

Being someone who really does not like conflict, I'm gonna agree with both fullbacksympathy and HuskerFever above. I think the coaching staff did a very good job of rebuilding the roster in the face of some surprise transfers and those whose eligibility expired. As I have mentioned in a previous post I also feel it will take more sustained success, in the form of repeated NCAA tourney selections and some actual tourney victories, to be able to attract what many feel are elite transfers. Having said that, ya know the coaching staff did try to get several high level transfers into the system. For example, one of the first they contacted was Tarris Reed Jr. and I'm not sure he even responded. And course, we all know they tried hard to get William Kyle and Igor to come to Lincoln. These guys have their own personal reasons for choosing the programs they did. There is no evidence they consulted with the hhc collective to make their decision. There are likely other high level transfers they contacted but did not get a response. This may not make everyone feel better, but one thing I like about the group fullback lists above is that they all seem to have really wanted to come to NU and are excited to be playing for a upper level finish in the Big 10 next season. While I wish summer would hurry up and get here, I also can't wait for November so we can see this team perform.

Sorry, my mistake. There are times the Pony Express is late getting to Scottsbluff.

That the World Herald staff writers are just a collection of Creighton bitches.

The worst part of this is we have to wait about 7 months before we see how this all plays out. As Tom Petty used to sing, "the waiting is the hardest part".

https://www.kpax.com/sports/kpax-sports-awards/kpax-sports-awards-hellgates-rollie-worster-and-maddy-butler Scroll down a ways in the article. An interesting essay Rollie wrote in high school about playing sports. I think we're gonna like this guy.
