Not all that big a deal, certainly not 3 percent chance difference, is the point, and if Michigan takes a spot that would be ours it would be an unmitigated disaster were they to keep winning, versus slumping.

Not even considering the raw rpi gain by rutgers winning our odds wouldn't be 3 percent worse by Maryland dropping to q3. If this is graoevine information I find it pretty hard to believe due to the specificity of the 72 percent if we lose a game. That being said, barring many tourney upsets, this is a little closer to what I think than the pundits think.

That is because they get a million chances because the Big East RPI are all ridiculously inflated. They also average getting their asses kicked by a whopping 15 per game in Q1 losses. Not a great team at all in any way shape or form.

Only complex, accurate metrics can paint the true picture for those of you. As for teams that are worse than any of those that you didn't list, based on scoreboards of games, entering last night at least, Georgetown worse than almost all of them, Iowa St., Washington worse than most of them, Colorado worse than most of them, as well as Georgia and South Carolina

LRMC is a college basketball ranking system designed to use only basic scoreboard data: which two teams played, whose court they played on, and what the margin of victory was. LRMC stands for "Logistic Regression/Markov Chain", the two primary mathematical techniques that were a part of our system. We've subsequently added a Bayesian component as well. Yep, these are accurate measures here of what really is going on.

Common denominator is that the big east is vastly overrated by the rpi in relation to the big 10. You stack up vegas power ratings and it is not all that lopsided at all. Yet a team like providence gets rewarded for it over and over again and a team like us gets penalized over and over again.
