Back then it wasn't Helen's. It was Jack's. However, Helen and her husband Don owned the Texaco gas station and cafe/bar at that time, located on the east end of town. You would have known it as the Korner Bar. They could have eaten there, being the first place they'd see. I've talked to people who worked there when the Interstate was being built.
