Row6Seat10 Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Cornhuskers Land Ramacieri’s 2013 Commitment 2013 recruit #3 Esther Ramacieri (5’7″, G, Dawson College, 2013) of Repentigny, Quebec, announced her recent commitment to play with the University of Nebraska, where she will become a Cornhusker for the Fall of 2013. After helping to guide her Blues to a Quebec Provincial Championship and a Silver Medal finish at the CCAA National Championships last season, careful consideration about the decision of where she would play. Consideration had included thinking about the impact a change of country and culture would have on her. In the end, the lure of playing with the 2010 National Coach of the year and joining the BIG10 conference with Nebraska, turned out to be the best fit for her. Ramacieri went on to say, “Some of the other schools that I had considered were UMass, St. Francis, Vermont, NJIT, St. Louis, but as the process continued I decided to pick Nebraska.” http://crownmagonlin...013-commitment/ Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 Esther joins the other two recruits we have coming next fall. Hannah Tvrdy 5'9 guard from Seward Allie Havers 6'5 post from Mattawan, MI. Brianna Ruiz the 6' guard from the Sacramento area who had Nebraska in her final 3, picked Washington last weekend over the Huskers and Louisville citing...it came down to feeling more comfortable for her to be playing on the west coast.. Cazzie22 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 We have had some success with players from Canada. Hope it continues. Noah121 1 Quote
HB Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 This doesn't sound so good. We have lost heaed to head battles with on several players recently with BCS level schools. This loooks like a fallback on our part. Not many high offers on her. The article doesn't say if she's a point or a 2, but we seem to have quite a few other young players in the program of her size. Color me skeptical, but maybe she's a diamond in the rough. Quote
Merlin Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Is she a Juco? Noticed the College mention. Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 I'm riding the in same boat you are HB, that article is about as far out in right field as you can get. Her list of colleges does throw up a red flag. But Kelsey Griffin wasn't very well known either. (I'm knocking on wood) With the facilities we have to help recruiting we've got to close the deal on the high level recruits coming through here. There were a couple of Canadian players down the weekend of the Ark. St game and she evidently was offered a scholarship then and called back within a few days and accepted. Canada basketball is evidently different than what you find down here in the states. From what I gathered Dawson College must be a juco, because on the roster from last year they have her listed as a first year player, studying General Social Science. If you remember Kaitlyn Burke's route to get here also took several different paths and she wound up playing 5 years here. Dawson College has a web site but doesn't have any stats or game results posted at all. I did manage to find about five box scores from last season floating around the internet and she started all but one game usually playing 20+ minutes scoring about 8 points with a couple assists per game. Her shooting percentage in those box scores looked to be under 30%. I did find it somewhat surprising that for only being 5'7 she would come up with 6-7 rebounds in each of those games. Also, she evidently played for the Canadian 17 and under national team in 2011 and managed these results in 5 games: 4.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.8 assists, shooting 27% from the floor. Merlin your guess is as good as mine if she'll be a freshman or a juco coming in. Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted October 18, 2012 Author Report Posted October 18, 2012 My new friend Raoul from Michigan thinks that Dawson College is a prep school in Canada and that Esther will be a freshman when she arrives on campus next fall. Quote
