I've heard from a couple different people now that Rebecca Woodberry has decided to take her basketball talents to the west coast and join the San Jose St. Spartans. If so, I wish her nothing but the best! She'll be fine and with her smarts will go a long way in life.

It's official now.

As a redshirt freshman at Nebraska in 2011-12, Woodberry averaged 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 31 games.  She will have two seasons to compete for the Spartans.

“Rebecca is a high energy, talented and versatile player,” head coach Tim La Kose said.  “We are a team on the rise and her outstanding shooting and experience will be a huge benefit for our program.”

I'm a little puzzled as to why she'll only have two seasons to compete for SJSU instead of 3.

5 years to play 4, so I assume she sits out a year for the transfer and then has 2 to play.

But if she RSD doesn't she lose the ability to sit a year ? Itns't that why when most kids transfer and have used thier RDS they go to a DII school ?

She doesn't lose the ability to sit a year...she just loses an eligible playing year while sitting out this time around.

So she was a Sophomore this year and played for the Huskers, then if she transfers to another DI school starts school next fall as junior so when she becomes eligible she should be a senior playing time wise. what am I missing.

I thought she was a redshirt freshman this year...but now I see she that was two years ago.

If she was a soph this year, then yes, your explanation is correct.

Ok thanks. Then looking at the SJSU web site last years roster totally different than from the year before, not one single player was on the 11-12 team that was on the 12-13 team. How can a program build anything that way.
