Red Rum Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Speaking of Iowa coaches, did anyone notice that, during a first half time out, the Iowa players were seated around the elbow area but the Iowa coaches were huddling around the top of the key--the Iowa coaches were talking amongst themselves instead of with their players. Hadn't seen that before. I actually have noticed that from Iowa before. Ever since I noticed that I seem to keep more of an eye on the coaches to see if anyone else does this. I have seen it from other schools but Iowa is by far the worst offender. They seem to go farther away and stay away longer than any other coaching staff I've seen do it. Quote

I noticed Fred Hoiberg did that when ISU played here in our last season of the Big 12. I figured, because he was new at the coaching gig, that he needed to consult with his staff before telling the players what to do. But I think Bzdelik did that too, congregating with his staff away from the players at least at the beginning of a timeout. I think it's weird. I'd rather have a coach who tweets at halftime. Quote
hhcmatt Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 BTW, When we were down 41-22 with :53 seconds to go in the first half against Iowa, our KenPom Minimum Win Probability was 1.7% Quote
