If you find yourself with nothing to do one of these upcoming boring Thursday or Friday nights I suggest you check out where the Class A's second ranked Lincoln Northeast girls are playing and make plans to watch them play. They have an up and coming freshman on their squad by the name of Mckenna Minter (2020) (yes ex-Husker football player Mike Minter's) daughter playing and starting for the Rockets and let me tell you she's a dynamite player. All ready as a freshman she is starting to garner interest from division I teams around the area and when word gets out about her the next couple of years expect her to gather a ton more.

Northeast is 10-1 right now thanks to what she's doing on the court. I watched her play in the Heartland Athletic Conference tourney against Lincoln Southwest and the kid absolutely took over the game finishing with 28 points. She's 5'8 now but she's just about possesses all the tools necessary to play at the next level right now. She's averaging well over 20 points per game.

I know the NU coaching staff is well aware of her abilities and have started to establish a good relationship with her.  IMO from what I've seen one the of the top 2 players in Nebraska girls basketball this year, the other being Minden's Taylor Kissinger.

I see that Mike Riley suddenly now has a couple of openings on his staff.  Maybe they will hire Mike Minter which would help grease the path for her to become a Husker.

Just kidding but her dad was one the most dedicated and talented Huskers ever.
