Runners on 1st and 2nd, 0 outs, and we don't bunt. Schleppenbach strikes out looking. Wilkining flies out to the wall in left, which would have resulted in a run.

This team is defeated.

I have that same goal, however this team has given me almost zero hope of winning a regional. I'm normally an optimistic guy, but this team is bringing out the pessimist in me. This regional was a tall task to begin with. Facing a pitching staff like Oregon State, means we HAD to win today, to give us a chance. Our team is built to take advantage of the other team's mistakes. Yale is a good fielding team, so they didn't make mistakes.

That was a wasted day. I had projects to do, but I thought maybe by some small miracle, we could actually score some runs, and make it interesting.

It's kind of hard to bunt or steal bases, when you have no base runners until there are two outs. Today, was weak ground ball after weak ground, after weak ground ball.

Look at that again, a hit with 2 outs and nobody on.

We have talent, just an absolute atrocious approach to the plate. Altavilla and Schreiber look like they have no honest to God clue how to have plate discipline. Schreiber swings at 95% of 1st pitches. (He swings and misses, rolls over a ground ball, or pops-up weakly) Very seldom does he do damage on the first pitch.

Well, now to top it off the home plate umpire is absolutely clueless about the rules, to cost us a lead-off baserunner.

It's not about the players. Our players are better than Yale's players. We tighten up every time we are playing for something. We had to thank our lucky stars that Purdue beat Minnesota, otherwise we would have had loss out on the Big 10 championship pissing a game down our legs.

That should do it. I don't see us getting 5 baserunners on, let alone 5 runs this game.

Making another pitcher look like an All-American. Just another day at the ballpark in regionals for this team.
