  1. is Chambers the one that asked to get the play reviewed, does the coach have to be the one to ask for the review?
  2. Penn State 58, Nebraska 53
  3. Purdue would have to get a few wins against the top 4 of the league (Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio St) and for sure go 11-7, odds at about 10% for all of that to happen, plus the committee punishes you big time for weak non-conference schedules, so they have that going against them as well when they're going up against other bubble teams
  4. 50 percent of the RPI is the average winning percentage of your opponents. This is how the RPI can be manipulated and Tim Miles has been very good at doing this (although I don't think he really did it on purpose this year). Tulane is 10-3 and they are really helping our RPI quite a bit even though we know they aren't really all that good. We have played only 2 teams with an RPI above 200 and only 2 teams with a losing record. Our strength of schedule is 20th, and I think while we have played a pretty tough schedule, it has not truly been the 20th toughest.
  5. SO many missed bunnies, the average college basketball player makes 99 out of 100 layups, in all the years I've followed Nebraska basketball, we make about 75 out of 100 layups, the only thing that helps makes sense out of that is we have had a lot of players not very confident in themselves or scared
  6. Lee B. tells it like it is and I prefer that over some writer who tries to spin things positively just to make the program sound good. I'm sure he would much rather write about a successful program than the current state we are in, but it is what it is. Also, he is always at home games unless there is a football conflict, the beat writers rarely go to road games and that's why they give quotes from the post game show.
  7. KENPOM: Nebraska 204, Jacksonville State 214. I'm sorry these two teams are not that far apart when it comes to talent. In fact, Jacksonville State was clearly the more athletic team if you ask me. That being said, the one thing I agree with that's the most disappointing was the mindset once we were up 15, we seemed to stop playing and that was very bad.
  8. Kent Pavelka has tweeted that Benny Parker will play today. A lttle surprised, but good news
  9. If you put aside the fact that this type of scheduling can exploit the RPI, it's also good for the fans that you are still playing quality competition and aren't playing some of the worst teams in the country (I will take playing a high mid-major Valparaiso type then Bethune-Cookman any day), and these schedules, whether they are inflated or not by the RPI, are still better schedules then most schools will put together, so I think it's a win-win. In the end, you still have to win a majority of the games for it to even matter.
  10. UCLA center Joshua Smith was released from his scholarship. This guy may be someone we should look at as we are in desperate need for bigs. I think he would be eligible to play next season and could provide an imidiate impact.
  11. Wake Forest 67, Nebraska 56
  12. Nebraska 67, Kent State 59
